Position : Senior Pipeline Developer

Location : Chennai and Pune

Overview:

As a Senior Pipeline Developer, you will take a leading role in the development and maintenance of the VFX pipeline infrastructure. Leveraging your advanced technical skills and industry knowledge, you will design and implement robust tools, scripts, and workflows that optimize productivity, efficiency, and scalability in the production pipeline. You will provide guidance to the pipeline development team, contribute to technical decision-making, and drive innovation in pipeline solutions.

Responsibilities:

· Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced tools, scripts, and workflows to enhance the VFX pipeline infrastructure.

· Collaborate closely with the pipeline team, artists, and production staff to understand requirements and address pipeline needs effectively.

· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the pipeline development team, fostering their growth and skills development.

· Identify areas for pipeline improvement and optimization, proposing and implementing innovative solutions.

· Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously evolve the pipeline infrastructure.

· Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of the pipeline with production workflows.

· Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and documentation of pipeline tools and systems to ensure their reliability and usability.

· Contribute to the establishment and enforcement of coding standards, documentation practices, and version control procedures.

Requirements:

· 5+ years of experience as a Pipeline Developer or in a similar technical role within the VFX industry.

· Extensive proficiency in scripting and programming languages commonly used in VFX pipelines, such as Python, Mel, or C++.

· In-depth knowledge of VFX software, workflows, and processes (e.g., Maya, Nuke, Houdini, etc.).

· Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges.

· Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.

· Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring a team of pipeline developers.

· Familiarity with industry-standard pipeline tools, technologies, and best practices.

Nice to Have:

· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

· Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce) and software development best practices.

· Experience with render farm management and distributed computing.

· Knowledge of database management and SQL.

· Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence in the context of VFX pipelines.
