Job Description:
The Librarian will be responsible for managing the college library and providing students and faculty members with access to information and resources that support their academic and research needs. The Librarian will also be responsible for developing and maintaining the library collection and ensuring that it aligns with the college's vision and mission.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the library, including opening and closing procedures, circulation, and reference services.
- Develop and implement library policies and procedures that align with the college's vision and mission.
- Collaborate with faculty members to provide instruction and support for research assignments and projects.
- Acquire and organize library materials, including books, journals, and online resources, to support the college's academic programs.
- Develop and maintain the library's website and online resources to provide students and faculty members with access to information and services.
- Provide guidance and support to students and faculty members on the use of library resources and technologies.
- Manage the library budget and oversee the purchasing and renewal of library materials.
- Promote the library's services and resources through outreach and marketing activities.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Library Science or Information Science from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in an academic library.
- Strong knowledge of library systems, technologies, and information management.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty members and students.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with pharmacy and medical terminology and resources is preferred.
