As an Experienced Technical Writer at Orangewood Labs, you will play a critical role in creating and maintaining technical documentation that is clear, comprehensive, and accessible. Your work will bridge the gap between our complex robotics systems and our customers and developers, ensuring they have the resources and knowledge needed to maximize the potential of our technology.
Desirable Qualities: Willingness to travel within or outside of India, flexible to work in US shifts, should have driving experience, multilingual.
Requirements Key Responsibilities:
- Documentation: Create, update, and maintain a range of technical documents, including user manuals, API guides, software documentation, and technical reports.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, developers, and product managers, to gather information and ensure the accuracy of documentation.
- Content Structure: Organize and structure content to make complex technical information easily understandable for different audiences.
- User-Focused: Maintain a strong user-centric approach, understanding the needs of our customers and developers to produce documentation that meets their requirements.
- Content Review: Edit and proofread documents to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to company style and standards.
- Updates and Revisions: Keep documentation up to date as products and features evolve.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and reliability of documentation, and perform regular audits to identify areas of improvement.
Functional Skills - Technical Proficiency: Proficient in the use of documentation tools, software, and platforms. Experience with tools such as Markdown, Confluence, or similar documentation software.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of robotics, industrial automation, or related technical fields.
- Writing Skills: Exceptional writing skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all written materials.
- Collaboration: Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple documentation projects.
- User Empathy: The ability to empathize with end-users and tailor documentation to their needs.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in technical writing, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing, with a portfolio of previous work.
- Familiarity with robotics and software documentation is a plus.
