Job description

Fund Raising Manager – Animal Rahat

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (COO), Animal Rahat

Location: Delhi or Mumbai

Position Objective: To lead all fundraising efforts for Animal Rahat with a focus on but not limited to major gift solicitations, fundraising events and legacies. Key Roles and Responsibilities : · Manage and develop Animal Rahat’s fundraising strategy among current and prospective major donors, utilising direct mail, special events, donor cultivation, and solicitation visits · Identify and research appropriate “cases for giving” for targeted donors · Identify prospective major donors from outside Animal Rahat’s current donor base and develop cultivation and solicitation strategies for these prospects · Solicit major financial donations for Animal Rahat from targeted donors through face-to-face meetings and related fundraising techniques · Maintain regular contact with specific groups of donors and act as a professional contact for them · Document pertinent information for the purpose of enhancing and developing donor profiles and ensure the database is current, with all donor activity recorded · Prepare annual division budgets, regular reports, and special analyses, as needed · Manage and attend cultivation, retention, and solicitation events for Animal Rahat members and supporters throughout India, including donor-hosted events, major-donor meetings, and other special events · Coordinate various aspects of events, including materials and mailings (e.g. invitations, sponsorship forms, programmes, and thank-you letters), auctions, entertainment, awards, handouts, gift bags, and attendance · Cultivate and manage relationships with potential corporate partners and donors · Develop a working knowledge of all planned-giving techniques · Manage relationships with vendors, including printers, mail houses, database consultants, and event-related companies and consultants · Stay up to date on current fundraising techniques and methods used in the non-profit sector, including those particular to the Indian market, and

attend professional training seminars · Stay current on animal rights issues in general and maintain a clear understanding of and an ability to articulate the objectives and details of Animal Rahat’s work ·

Manage the recruitment of any new and replacement positions within the fundraising department · Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications: · Minimum of three years of fundraising experience within India, focused on major gifts, fundraising events, and legacies · Ability to manage multiple projects and donor relationships · Ability to work independently and use discretion in confidential matters relating to donors · Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and be flexible · Proven exceptional written and verbal communication skills · Ability to manage projects, work collaboratively, and foster an ongoing dialogue with multiple departments · Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout India · Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends, as required for a donor contact · Commitment to the objectives of the organisation
