Job Summary:
This job opportunity is with one of the leading core life insurance company, The Financial & IFRS 17 Reporting Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), with a specific focus on IFRS 17. This role involves collaboration with various departments to gather relevant data, analyze financial information, and prepare comprehensive reports that adhere to regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
IFRS 17 Compliance:
- Stay updated on changes to IFRS 17 standards and guidelines.
- Interpret and implement IFRS 17 requirements in financial reporting processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and completeness for IFRS 17 reporting.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with IFRS and other applicable regulations.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data and disclosures.
- Coordinate with external auditors during the audit process.
Data Analysis:
- Conduct thorough analysis of financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to enhance data quality and reporting efficiency.
Documentation and Compliance :
- Maintain documentation of financial processes and IFRS 17 compliance procedures.
- Implement and enforce internal controls to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
Cross-Functional Collaboration :
- Work closely with actuaries, risk management, and other relevant departments to gather necessary data for IFRS 17 reporting.
- Collaborate with finance teams globally to align reporting processes and ensure consistency.
Training and Communication :
- Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on IFRS 17 reporting requirements.
- Communicate changes in reporting standards and their implications to relevant teams.
Continuous Improvement :
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant
- Good experience in financial reporting, with a focus on IFRS.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS 17 and its application in the insurance or financial industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Experience with financial systems and proficiency in relevant software/tools.
