Consilium Recruit are delighted to be supporting AMRC Cymru. Based in Broughton, Wales, they are a state-of-the-art manufacturing focused research centre supporting a wide range of industrial partners. They are seeking a Manufacturing Research Engineer and offer an excellent range of benefits.

Salary: £ 30,487 - £ 34,980 p.a. + Excellent Pension + Hybrid Working + Extensive Benefits including flexible working and extended annual leave.




The Role

AMRC Cymru is a dynamic partnership between the Welsh Government, the University of Sheffield and numerous growth enterprise agencies. They are seeking a Project Manager to join the team at Broughton in Flintshire.

As a Manufacturing Research Engineer for the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), you will be based within the AMRC Cymru facility in Broughton, Flintshire, Wales. You will be a member of a team of innovation and research experts that will deliver the AMRC Cymru portfolio of projects that range in complexity, and duration, across all sectors. All projects focus on developing innovative solutions for in-house research, industrial partners, and companies in the UK manufacturing supply chain. The scale of this work can vary significantly from concept development to physical or digital demonstrators, providing an excellent opportunity for continuous learning and personal development.

You will be expected to input into project scoping, set up and delivery as well as advising on technical matters across the AMRC Cymru technical pillars that relate to your role. This could be learning new developments from research or reporting progress on projects to internal and external stakeholders. You must ensure projects are delivered to a high technical standard to ensure the AMRC’s international reputation is maintained.





The Person

The successful candidate will possess a degree or equivalent experience/qualification in a mechanical or electrical engineering discipline and demonstrate a keen interest in and aptitude for Automation, Digitalisation, Modelling & Simulation and Design-For-Manufacture.

You will be conversant with the benefits of applying the above technology for the benefits of sustainable manufacturing, decarbonisation, and enhanced productivity.  The Manufacturing Research Engineer will be interested in the technical aspects of Industry 4.0, digital twinning, energy innovation, design and concept development and materials/manufacturing.

Excellent communication skills and previous experience working in a project-led environment are highly advantageous for the role. This role offers excellent career development and progression opportunities.
