Principal Manager Product Development - Noodles & Pasta

Job description

Lead the creation, design and execution of all new Product development activities for Noodles/Pasta category and guide team to develop products that are unique, have superior sensorial, carry scientific claims and that comply to regulatory norms.

1. Lead Product Development function for Noodles and Pasta category under VP PD (Noodles, Pasta and Staples) and taking forward all existing PD projects. 2. To involve and closely work with PD teams for developing competitively superior product portfolio. 3. Drive expansion into new range of offerings in Noodles and Pasta categories such as air dried options, Noodles with sauces, Low priced SKUs etc. 4. Develop range of masala/seasoning/sauces options at optimum costs and also improve contributions of existing products where necessary. 5. Focus on upgrading and updating product quality parameters and systems for existing products ensuring that consumer feedback feeds into the quality and manufacturing systems so that consistent quality is maintained in the market. 6. Actively work with Marketing, Market Research, Supply chain and Product Research teams to drive PD projects for focused and agile execution of projects.

Experience

The candidate is expected to have ideally 10-15 years of experience in the technical function, a large part of which should have been devoted to product development. Conceptual knowledge and implementation experience of manufacturing and quality systems such as HACCP, GMP, ISO, TPM, Six-sigma and Lean would be expected. Expertise in Food sciences, Processing technologies and must have contributed in developing and launching the products in previous organisations. Knowledge of microbiology, food safety, food chemistry, food preservation and product formulation (Product chemical composition, ingredient properties and functions, interactions between ingredients, impact of processing & storage on stability and safety etc) required Knowledge of food related statutory compliances must. Knowledge of food analysis instrumentation & procedures required Statistical analysis and interpretation of data, design of experiments including specific technology (equipments specifications, functional working etc.) Capability to scaleup pilot trials to a commercial level and should have knowledge on product costing and contributions. Knowledge on improving the efficiency in regards to controlling wastages and improving the yields Good knowledge on conducting product shelf life studies.
