Job description
The successful individual will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to employees within the organization. This role ensures that all IT systems and services are operating effectively and efficiently, and that employees have the necessary tools and resources to carry out their work.
The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Help Desk Support and responding to and resolving internal IT support requests in a timely and professional manner. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, network connectivity problems, and user account management.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining software applications, operating systems, and hardware devices.
- Providing assistance and guidance on software usage, including productivity tools, business applications, and specialized software.
- Conducting training sessions and creating documentation to educate employees on IT tools, systems, and best practices. Offer ongoing support and guidance to users to ensure they can effectively utilize technology resources. Recommending information assurance and security solutions to support product development and customer requirements.
- Tracking and managing IT assets, including computers, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals. Maintaining an inventory of hardware and software licenses and ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards Leading meetings and working groups to address issues related to malware, threats, vulnerabilities, and cybersecurity preparedness.
- Assisting in the administration and maintenance of IT systems, such as user account provisioning, security updates, and backups. Collaborating with the IT team to implement and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, and cloud services. Helping to develop secure-by-design on-premises and cloud infrastructure configurations/policies to prevent new on-premises/cloud security issues.
- Diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity. Escalate complex problems to senior IT staff or external vendors, when necessary, while ensuring effective communication and follow-up with users.
- Following security protocols and assisting in maintaining a secure IT environment. Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, backup procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
- Assisting in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of IT projects, such as system upgrades, software rollouts, and infrastructure enhancements. Provide technical expertise and support during project lifecycles.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software applications, and operating systems (e.g., Windows and Linux).
- Experience in providing technical support and troubleshooting for end-users.
- Familiarity with network fundamentals (e.g., TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS) and network troubleshooting tools.
- Proficiency in productivity tools, such as Microsoft Office suite and collaboration platforms.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of ITIL principles and best practices is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are desirable.
