Position: Chief Financial Officer
Location: Kottayam, Kerala (with occasional travel)
Reporting to: Board of Directors/CEO

Head quartered in Kottayam, Kerala, the group currently specializes is several core activities. They include managing dealerships for prominent brands such as Maruti, Eicher and Bharath Petroleum, as well as engaging in the cultivation and production of tea, rubber and other crops. These agricultural activities span the states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, encompassing a vast land portfolio of over 4,000 acres. Presently the group has an annual turnover of approximately 400 crore rupees and holds assets in excess of 600 crore rupees.
Furthermore, AVG has expanded its business interests to include real estate development, ventures in the hospitality sector, and the establishment of a venture incubator aimed at investing in diverse business opportunities.
Summary:
AVG is looking to hire an experienced finance professional to be based out of Kottayam, Kerala to head the finance function for all the group companies. The per1son will lead and manage all aspects of the finance function including accounting, finance and capital raising for the group companies.
Core Responsibilities:
Financial Control & Compliance
• Responsible for driving development, implementation and adherence of all financial and accounting policies & procedures for the organization in compliance with the applicable financial and accounting standards
• Ensure compliance with local, state and statutory rules, regulations, tax and reporting requirements.
• Lead budget/forecasts processes and analysis and reporting of financial data to aid business planning
• Oversee the coordination and activities of independent auditors ensuring all audit issues are resolved, and all compliance issues are met, and the preparation of the annual financial statements is in accordance with principles of accounting and other required supplementary schedules and information.
• Responsible for collections
• Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization.
• Oversee all purchasing and payroll activity for staff and participants.
• Monitor cash flows to ensure healthy liquidity and short and long term sustainability of the companies and take necessary measures to ensure availability of working capital
• Oversee effective taxation planning and compliance for the organization
• Assist in the design, implementation, and timely calculations of wage incentives, commissions, and salaries for the staff
Corporate Finance:
• Responsible for driving all fund-raising initiatives including debt and equity for the companies and its subsidiaries
• Supporting and monitoring the performance of the group companies/subsidiaries, including working on value creation opportunities to enhance shareholder value and return on equity
• Diversify the sources of capital and maintaining and building relationships with the banking and investment communities
• Overseeing the treasury function of the company and its subsidiaries Commercial & Cost Control
• Drive cost control initiatives and enforce budget control to improve cost efficiencies
• Drive organization wide cost management strategies and initiatives
• Work with the business teams to support on the commercial aspects of deal making
• Conduct business and financial evaluation of specific proposals
• Investigate cost-effective benefit plans and other fringe benefits which the organization may offer employees and potential employees with the goal of attracting and retaining qualified individuals.
• Work with the Board to ensure programmatic success through cost analysis support, and compliance with all contractual and programmatic requirements
• Strengthen F&A team that helps provide seamless and timely support to the business
Business Support
• Serve as a pivotal member of the senior management team responsible for formulation of the overall organization strategy and short term / long term business plans
• Should be a partner to the Management in building the “organization of the future”
• Ensure business plans are aligned to key strategies and financial objectives
• Assist the key stakeholders in establishing short and long term departmental goals and objectives
• Provide decision support to the Board in driving business deliverables, and be answerable to the Board Leadership
• Lead the commercial/finance team, managing and developing their skills, priorities and direction
• Provide functional direction, guidance and support
• Monitor the performance of the team on a continuous basis to identify key performers
• Mentor and develop the finance management team, managing work allocation, training, performance evaluation, and the building of a dynamic and effective team.
• Train the Finance Unit and other staff on raising awareness and knowledge of financial management matters.
• Ensure high level of employee engagement and retention of key performers
Experience:
• Relevant experience (15+ years) in similar finance roles
• Self-starter with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and to work independently
• Outstanding analytical skills, detail-oriented, inquisitive and a proactive attitude
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
