Our focused group of professionals is composed of top performers from top strategy consulting firms, investment banks, and other internal JPMorgan Chase groups. Projects include developing growth strategies, assessing new product and market entry, designing organizational change, and performing strategic business deep dives. 

As part of the Strategy group, the VP would be involved in leading projects that involve structured problem solving, communicating and engaging with senior stakeholders within the firm while also undertaking a leadership role for junior team members. In addition to playing a critical role of delivering on Strategy projects, Payments VP would also be responsible for leading the Payments organization in India Corporate Center.

Job Responsibilities

Core responsibilities as Payments Strategy VP

  • Lead initiatives/projects to resolve diverse problems identified by senior management of J.P. Morgan Payments; lead teams of 1-2 junior strategists and influence other partners throughout the organization to develop solutions in partnership with business leaders 
  • Develop 'trusted advisor' relationships with multiple senior stakeholders, influence partners, resources, and stakeholders at all levels (from juniors to business heads)  
  • Gather, synthesize, and creatively analyze data (e.g., financial modeling) to provide insights, identify issues, and arrive at recommendations; simultaneously work on multiple projects across the J.P Morgan Payments organization 
  • Develop strategic presentations for both internal and external audiences; communicate effectively and confidently (both oral and written) 
  • Monitor industry trends and share insightful reports and analyses with broader team and with senior executives; contribute to an environment of collaboration and mutual responsibility; coach and mentor junior colleagues 

Core responsibilities as India lead for Payments Organization

  • People management responsibilities: Provide local oversight and guidance to a team of 70 resources across different functions within the Payments organization. Key responsibilities include resourcing, career development, training, performance management, etc
  • Enhancing the value delivered by India team by driving innovation agenda and bringing efficiencies
  • Growing and optimizing the impact of the Payments verticals, by working with the respective stakeholders globally
  • Managing the Payments Strategy team members in Mumbai (currently 2 FTEs)

Required Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills

  • Structured problem solving – Ability to understand and identify issues to define clear problem statements, generate hypotheses, identify and gather relevant data points for detailed analysis to prove/ disprove hypotheses; work in team to identify potential solutions/ recommendations using relevant frameworks
  • Storyboarding and communication –Ability to consistently understand the 'big picture' and link the key takeaways back to the project narrative; create clear and effective storyline for presenting analyses and recommendations; structure and create presentations to deliver key arguments, messages and insights; communicate efficiently via verbal and written modes with all stakeholders
  • Stakeholder engagement - Collaborate proactively with global stakeholders (business partners, strategy team members, senior leaders); lead interviews, workshops, focus group discussions as applicable to drive required project outcomes
  • Teamwork and leadership - Regularly checks in with team members to understand their experiences, leads projects and other team activities in a way that promotes a healthy, sustainable and positive work environment
  • Responsible for project delivery and excellence end to end
  • MBA from tier 1 college with excellent academic background

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills

  • An outstanding ability to analyze problems and apply quantitative analytical approaches, deep understanding of multiple analytical tools (e.g., pivot tables, graphs, etc.), awareness of available databases and research tool and ability to recognize data issues
  • Ability to created structured / logical presentations and clearly communicate key messages using appealing displays and graphics
  • Communicate effectively and confidently and work well in cross-functional and cross-regional teams
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, quickly learn and understand new concepts / businesses with effective prioritization skills to meet project deadlines
  • Ability to identify implications of analysis ('so whats') and present results to management
  • Experience in Consulting/ Wholesale Banking domain, prior experience in working with senior and global stakeholders is preferred
  • Proven ability to lead teams and experience of working in a global set-up
