Job description
Overview: As the Regional Director for the West Region for Rhenus Logistics, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the operations, sales, and financial performance of our Air & Ocean (freight forwarding) business unit, focusing on both air and ocean freight. This role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of P&L management within the logistics sector. Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth, market share expansion, and profitability within the West Region. Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive threats to formulate effective business strategies. Lead the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and business plans in alignment with corporate objectives. Operations Management: Oversee all operational activities within the region. Ensure operational efficiency, compliance with regulatory requirements, and adherence to quality standards. Implement process improvements and technology solutions to enhance operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction. Sales and Business Development: Drive sales initiatives to acquire new customers, expand existing accounts, and increase revenue streams. Foster relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders to identify business opportunities and drive customer loyalty. Collaborate with the sales team to develop compelling value propositions and tailor solutions to meet customer needs. Financial Performance: P&L responsibility for the West Region, including revenue generation, cost management, and profitability targets. Analyze financial performance metrics, identify variances, and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve financial objectives. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for business improvement. Leadership and Team Development: Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to employees, empowering them to achieve their full potential. Promote a safe and inclusive work environment, emphasizing employee engagement, diversity, and adherence to company values. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA preferred. Proven track record of success in a senior leadership role within the logistics industry, with specific experience in freight forwarding - air and ocean of 15 Years and above. Demonstrated expertise in P&L management, strategic planning, and operational excellence. Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and financial literacy. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage competing priorities.
