Job Description - Head Of Sales

As the head of the sales department, your primary responsibility is to lead and manage the sales team to achieve the company's goals. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that align with a company's goals and objectives. This includes identifying potential new markets and opportunities, analyzing trends and data and creating sales plans to meet the company's revenue goals.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies:

○ Create strategies that align with a company's goals and objectives. This includes identifying potential new markets and opportunities, analyzing trends and data and creating sales plans to increase revenue.

  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity:

○ Stay up-to-date on market trends and competitor activity. This includes analyzing market data, conducting research and using this information to make informed sales decisions.

  • Set sales targets and monitor performance:

○ Set targets for the teams and monitor their performance to ensure they achieve their goals. This includes analyzing sales data, providing regular feedback to the team and making necessary plan adjustments.

  • Managing and motivating the sales team:

○ Manage and motivate sales team to achieve their individual and team goals. This includes recruiting, training and coaching the team, providing ongoing support and creating a positive work environment that fosters teamwork and collaboration.

  • Building and maintaining customer relationships:

○ Build and maintain relationships with key customers. This involves understanding their needs and preferences, addressing their concerns and providing excellent customer service to ensure satisfaction.

  • Collaborating with other departments:

○ Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and delivery teams, to ensure a coordinated approach to sales and company strategies. This includes sharing market insights, customer feedback and other relevant information to support organizational goals.

  • Managing and driving sales teams to:

○ Setting sales targets and monitoring performance

○ Build & consistently maintain Sales Pipeline

○ Generate Marketing Qualified Lead Generation

○ Generate Sales Qualified Lead Generation

○ Generate Meetings/Appointments with new Leads

○ Submit Proposals to Prospects

○ New Customer acquisition

○ Upsell and cross-sell to existing customer

○ Achieve high sales conversion ratio

○ Generate revenue as per the defined sales targets

Qualifications / Skills

  • Strong leadership skills to motivate & manage a team, set clear goals & expectations, provide ongoing feedback & support and lead by example.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients, customers and team members. Deliver persuasive presentations and pitches, negotiate contracts and build strong relationships with key investors, clients, business leaders and customers.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills, including the ability to identify and evaluate opportunities, to develop and implement sales plans and adapting to changes in a market.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze sales data, identify trends and make informed decisions using relevant information, also to develop and implement data-driven sales strategies that align with the company's goals.
  • A client-focused mindset to understand the requirements and preferences of different groups of customers to deliver solutions that address those needs.
  • Extensive sales experience, including an understanding of the entire sales process. This includes lead generation, pipeline management and deal closure strategies.
  • Strong understanding of the industry to identify market trends, unique characteristics of competitive landscapes and specific customer needs.
  • Effective time management to prioritize workflows to meet deadlines consistently while achieving sales targets.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and are willing to try new strategies and techniques may be more successful in their careers. Quickly adjust your approaches and strategies to meet evolving customer needs and market conditions.
  • 15-20 years of experience into Sales function performing roles like - telecalling, doing hands-on sales, managing sales teams, working in India as well as global markets (like North America, Eurpoe/UK, Middle East and APAC) & successfully generating revenue from these markets
  • 10+ years of software sales experience with 5+ years of ERP software and services selling experience is must
  • 4+ years of experience in performing Head of Sale role

Education

  • Bachelor's or master's degree with a concentration in sales or marketing or business administration.
