Job description
Technical Specialist / Associate Consultant
Total : 7+Years of experience & Minimum of 5 yrs in SQL Database Administration / Support .
Technical Requirements
- Evaluate the Database Server Hardware.
- Define/Recommend/Maintain Database Standards and Architecture.
- Recommend Server H/W, SQL Server Editions for a new Build
- Research and Recommend Patch management for database/instance and Impact Analysis.
- Initiate need and Impact Analysis for Database Migration/Upgrade
- Technical Consultation
- Vendor Support and Interaction
- Advance Database Performance tuning (Perfmon, Profiler, Database Tuning Wizard etc.)
- Install new versions of the MSSQL and its features and any other tools that access the MSSQL database
- Application code promotion and migrations of programs, database changes, reference data changes and menu changes through the development life cycle if applicable
- Experience and knowledge in migrating code, database changes, data and menus through the various stages of the development life cycle
- Performs database re-organizations as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database
- Troubleshoots with problems regarding the databases, replication and database related Tools
- Good knowledge of physical database design and responsible for the physical database design
- Ability to perform both database and also operating system performance monitoring and the necessary adjustments
- Excellent skills in MSSQL HA/DR Features such as SQL Server Always On, Failover Clustering, Database Mirroring, Log Shipping, Replication etc
- Implement and enforce security requirements for MSSQL databases
- Recommend and Review Backup and Recovery Strategies.
- Good understanding of new features available in MS-SQL Server version (2014,2016 and 2017 etc.)
- Having experience of DR Solution/Implementation/Execution through various sync methods
- Create and maintain MSSQL databases required for development, testing, Integration, QA and production usage
- Install MSSQL database and its features and any other tools that access by application.
- Designing strategy towards Capacity Management for DB tracks.
- Designing SQL Server Security (Server hardening,Auditing and compliance)
- Hands on experience of Windows clustering
- Administering SSRS, SSIS and SSAS (Functional knowledge will be an added advantage)
Good knowledge of the windows and Unix operating system(s)
