Overview
RTI is hiring a Risk Management Expert for its USAID-funded Task Order Technical Support for South Asia Regional Energy Partnership (SAREP) activity. This position will be based in New Delhi, India.
Responsibilities - Analyze the risks associated with financing of clean energy projects and design credit enhancement solutions/models based on existing frameworks/polices and leading international practices.
- Support activities related to structuring of blended financing instruments like risk guarantees, credit enhancement, first loss default, payment security mechanism etc. and enable the transition towards clean energy/decarbonization through identification and adoption of such financing solutions.
- Provide analytical inputs to enhance investments (both debt and equity) as well as to optimize the cost of capital, in the clean energy sector (renewables, energy storage, energy efficiency, smart meters, electric mobility, green hydrogen etc.)
- Preparation of concept notes/presentations/reports, stakeholder discussions and transaction support like valuation, structuring, documentation, term sheet negotiation etc.
- Developing excel based financial models on financing aspects pertaining to clean energy.
- Support awareness building, technical support, and investment promotion activities that facilitate the flow of capital into the clean energy sector.
- Conduct trainings and capacity development workshops.
- Develop case studies and lessons learned for sharing across the South Asian region.

- Demonstrated network with multilateral banks/development finance institutions, philanthropic funds, financial institutions, foundations etc. required.
- Previous experience in structuring blended financing instruments (risk guarantees, credit enhancement, first loss default etc.) required.
- Demonstrated experience in fund-raising (debt and equity), financing strategy, financial appraisal, financial modeling due diligence etc. preferred.
- Demonstrated relevant experience in financing and risk management in clean energy (renewables/ energy efficiency) and in e-mobility projects preferred.
- Prior experience working on a donor-funded projects preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, excel and PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with all clients, peers, and stakeholders.
- Motivated and able to work under challenging and fast paced environment.
- Ability to effectively prioritize workload, self-manage and complete tasks to best meet project needs.
- English language proficiency required.
