Job description

Overall purpose of role:

The overall purpose of the Indirect Commodity Buyer is to support the local EAFR Purchasing organization in managing procurement activities (planning, sourcing, tender and negotiation) for local indirect categories (FM/MRO/Utilities…) in AESC Douai to optimize savings and reduce risks with suppliers.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  1. Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and EU/central purchasing organizations.
  2. Support EU Purchasing leaders with contract negotiation
  3. Manage a dedicated purchasing portfolio including, contract negotiations, contribution to annual savings targets and management of Invitation to Tenders and Request for Quotations.
  4. Manage / Administer Purchase Orders
  5. Support Purchasing Manager with implementation of European Purchasing policies
  6. Support Purchasing Project Management activity in local indirect categories

 

Pre-requisites – Job specific skills and functional / technical knowledge

  1. Formal/Professional Education Purchasing/Procurement degree/CIPs foundation is desirable
  2. Experience Purchasing Processes and Procedures Supplier Management Negotiation skills Project Management skills Extensive experience in Indirect purchasing (5 – 10 years)
  3. IT Skills Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications, SAP
  4. Foreign Language must have: English/French C1 level Nice to have: Chinese
