Job description
- 7/10 years in equivalent position with knowledge and experience in re/insurance business in Spain and Portugal and proven positive track records
- excellent level in Spanish and English (written and spoken), Portuguese language being a plus
- strong analytical skills, pragmatic and solution oriented
- ability to originate new business, relying on very good negotiation skills
- self-starter with the drive to take initiative and manage targets in a goal-orientated manner. Demonstrating ability for teamwork, efficiently and under pressure
- able to travel abroad throughout the year
You will be responsible and accountable for business origination and account management of assumed Non-Life Treaty reinsurance business in respect of assigned clients in the Spanish & Portuguese Markets.
Based in Paris, your role is a combination of underwriting and client interaction, two very dynamic areas that require a prudent and flexible approach. You will be interacting directly with clients and brokers as well as with various internal stakeholders.

senior reinsurance non-life treaty underwriter Spain & Portugal
tasks and responsibilities
- underwriting treaty reinsurance for new and existing clients in compliance with company guidelines and within assigned authorities
- understanding client’s needs, evaluate options for action, develop business opportunities and coordinate client interaction.
- negotiating, pricing and concluding treaty contracts within your assigned authorities, being accountable for the performance of the assigned market
- representing the company during meetings with clients, brokers or any other counter-parties of the company and when attending industry events or conferences
- promoting a positive interaction and collaboration with internal peers. Communicating actively, timely and with openness
experience
- 7/10 years in equivalent position with knowledge and experience in re/insurance business in Spain and Portugal and proven positive track records
- university degree in Economics, Mathematics, Legal Sciences or Technical Degree or equivalent
- excellent level in Spanish and English (written and spoken), Portuguese language being a plus

about the team
- you will be part of Western & Southern Europe Department encompassing France, Benelux, Iberia, Italy and Maghreb
- region is handled out of the headquarters and out of the French Branch in Paris; such P&L represents a meaningful contribution to the company’s top and bottom line
- You shall report to the Managing Director of the French Branch
