The Platform Train System Engineer will BE part of the Platform Technical team
He/ she will report to : the Technical Director of the Commuter Platform
His/ her main responsibilities will BE the following ones :
Supporting the BTM to define the main bricks, systems and concepts of the product and assure product performances and Energy Consumption.
Analyzing and structuring of market, customer and legal requirements as well as Alstom internal requirements into clear requirements for components (systems, subsystems and cables)
Contributing to the platform definition of the electrical architecture and interfaces
Taking in charge transversal activities to define and standardize main subsystems
Supporting TSE during tender phase. Ensure the tender follow the product strategy define by the Platform
Bringing support in the definition of the functional and electrical architecture of the Platform (New Commuter Control Architecture)
Bringing support to the definition of standardized solutions and documentation.
Bringing support in the continuous improvement of the Platforms, also taking into consideration feedback received and experience gained
Bringing support to ensure that the standard platform solutions are developed and used in bids and order executions.
Managing conflicting requirements, concepts, and interfaces within and between the the respective areas and metiers
Participating in the definition of the Green Traction Components and BE the interface with Green Traction Platform. Perform energy calculation during pre-tender phase and do the preliminary definition of components.
Ensuring the quality of technical documentation and ensuring consistency within the area and at the interfaces with other areas.
Defining and managing new R&D or sustaining activities of the platform.
QUALIFICATION :
Technical skills :
Master engineering degree in a technical field (rail vehicle technology, electrical engineering or similar).
Professional experience in System Engineering in a Railway, aerospace or heavy equipment industry for at least 5 years,
Technical skills (wide range from Electrical, SW Control and Mechanical) preferably in Railway industry and in particula : Traction Systems, motors and bogies, auxiliaries, traction batteries, diesel engines, brakes, doors and HVAC.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English. Other languages as French, German and Spanish appreciated.
Soft skills :
Able to demonstrate management and co-ordination skills with ability to prioritize and work effectively under pressure to meet the deadline.
Able to work in an international, multisite and matrix organization structure.
Rigorous, organized, able to take decisions and explain them in a pedagogical way
