We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior API Lead Architect to play a pivotal role in spearheading the implementation of an API-First approach. This position requires a visionary technical leader with a deep understanding of API design, architecture, and best practices. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive API strategy, and architect scalable solutions to meet the evolving needs of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

• API technical Strategy and Vision:
• Develop and communicate a comprehensive API technical strategy aligned with business objectives
• Define a roadmap for API development, ensuring alignment with the company's long-term goals
• API Architecture:
• Lead the design and development of a robust, scalable, and secure API architecture
• Establish and enforce API design principles and best practices
• Technical Leadership:
• Provide technical leadership to development teams, guiding them in implementing APIs based on established standards
• Collaborate with software engineers, system architects, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive integration of APIs within the overall system architecture
• API Governance:
• Implement and oversee API governance processes, including versioning, documentation, and compliance
• Define, with the Sodexo Global Information Security Services department, and enforce API security measures to protect sensitive data
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective API solutions
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other teams to ensure seamless integration of APIs into applications
• Education and Training:
• Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate development teams and stakeholders on API best practices
• Quality Assurance:
• Establish and implement testing strategies for APIs to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability
• Collaborate with QA teams to develop comprehensive test plans for APIs
• Documentation:
• Create and maintain comprehensive API documentation for internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure that documentation is accessible, up-to-date, and aligned with industry standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Senior Lead Architect in API design and development
• In-depth knowledge, not limited to, of RESTful and GraphQL API design principles
• Expertise in API security, including OAuth, JWT, and other authentication/authorization mechanisms
• Strong experience with API management tools and platforms (Azure API Management)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Relevant certifications in API design and architecture are a plus
