The IT department is empowering the organisation to build digital capabilities and allow our client to thrive in the digital era. The key capabilities are structured around cross-functional teams tackling key areas - Digital Workplace, Core Systems, Data & Analytics, and Cybersecurity.
The Company"s Data Strategy encompasses internal and external data sets from a vast partner ecosystem, aiming to build robust data foundations, for data management, data governance, and innovation.
The Company Data Team plays a pivotal role in making them more data-driven. Leading the implementation of the Data Strategy, the team works on data architecture, engineering, analytics, and visualisation across the organisation. The Data Team guides the internal data community to enhance alignment and data literacy throughout the Company.
Our client is using principally Azure Cloud and Power BI platform for its data infrastructure, reporting, and visualisation, but also leverages on other technology platforms for innovative data projects.
About The Role
- The Data Team Manager reports to the IT Director and plays a key role at the Company Data Strategy Committee, with direct link to the Company executive leadership
- As a Data Team Manager you are responsible for leading and managing the Company Data Team (currently 5 team members). You are responsible for the development and evolutive maintenance of data infrastructure and technology stack
- In your role, you collaborate across management, programmes, and operations teams to provide actionable insights and propel the organisational and programmatic data journey. Your contribution is vital for executing the Company Data Strategy, facilitating data-driven decision-making by guaranteeing the availability, integrity, and accessibility of their data assets
- You propose and lead various change management activities to increase data literacy in the business teams
Experience and Competencies
- University degree in relevant field - Computer Sciences, Data Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent through experience
- Relevant professional experience, with experience in a team leadership/management role
- Proven track record in data engineering, data analysis, visualisation, and/or data science projects
- Strong understanding of data management practices and technologies, from source to visualisation: ETL jobs/pipelines, data lake, data warehouse, data viz
- Experience of leading a data team/project, and ideally participation and implementing data foundations within a medium sized organisation/business unit
- Excellent knowledge of web services, APIs, SQL, scripting languages (Python), and PowerBI technology (DAX, Power Query, etc.)
- Experience working with Azure Cloud environment is an asset
- Understanding of machine learning/AI, and new/emerging BI technologies
- Direct experience with agile methodologies and way of working
- Written and verbal communications in English, another European language is an asset
- Passionate about climate action with a genuine interest in the mission and values of the Company
