A day in the life of our Sales Director demands high levels of energy in order to keep up. They need consistency even though the days are never alike; and creativity to tackle daily adventures. Listing all of the tasks that our Diplomatic Sales Director accomplish would BE lengthy but the list below is essential to know.

Achieving individual and team revenue goals set by the Area Director of Sales in order to achieve the financial, business and marketing objectives of The Beverly Hills Hotel and Hotel Bel-Air. This is accomplished by developing a strategic and measurable plan to prospect for potential accounts in assigned market territories, in addition to maintaining existing relationships with an established client base. Works closely with Revenue Management, Catering, Finance and all Operational departments of both hotels. This position will BE responsible for the global diplomatic market including, but not limited to the Middle East. - Develops sales strategy to prospect and uncover new business. Solicit and further develop existing accounts in their assigned territory

- Monitors reports and hospitality related resources to gain market share from the competitive set

- Analyzes current and potential market/trends within the Diplomatic and Embassy markets on an ongoing basis by following world events

- Promotes awareness and positive image of Dorchester Collection and the hotels both internally and externally

- Maintains accurate and clean Nexus account database; inputs all opportunities into Nexus on a timely basis

- Maintains complete knowledge of and complies with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards

- Solicit new and existing business through initiatives including but not limited to telephone calls, emails and sales calls. Follow up promptly with appropriate action to support all actions.

- Negotiate with clients and achieve maximum revenue/profit potential while satisfying client needs.

- Evaluate, solicit, sell and confirm business as required to meet individual goals and overall budgeted sales and profitability.

- Assist in developing and executing projects for assigned market areas to increase sales activity, volume and profit.

- Possess a complete working knowledge of the local competition.

- Develop Strategy and initiates potential business account interest, solicits and negotiates contracts for hotel business for the diplomatic and international sales market.

- Conducts tours of the hotel and coordinates on-site client entertainment to showcase all hotels services and amenities

- Travels to attend trade shows/events and conducts sales calls, dependent on assigned markets and manages cost to remain within estimated travel budgets

- Assists the Area Director of Sales and Marketing and Area Director of Sales with the development of the marketing plan and budget for market territory

- Supervises sales coordinators to ensure completion of daily tasks and assists with further development of their potential within Dorchester Collection

- Participates in all relevant meetings including, forecast, daily business revenue and sales meetings

- Participates in strategic market review meetings with Area Director of Sales to ensure targets are being met

- Establishes a relationship with all of the departments of the hotel to ensure smooth operation and servicing of clients

- Owns yearly performance goals with Area Director of Sales, monitors own performance on a quarterly basis and exercises accountability for performance against goals

- Adheres to both hotels' selling strategies as directed by the Area Director of Sales and Area Director of Revenue Management

- Develops and/or maintains and improves business relations with all customers and clients. Professionally manages any conflicts or challenges from internal or external clients
