Job description
Associates will take the lead on sourcing and due diligence efforts into potential investment opportunities. As part of a global team, you will identify, evaluate, and help close investments into some of the fastest-growing technology businesses globally. Over time you will be expected to support the portfolio companies you have been involved with, all the while working directly with partners based in London, Paris, and New York. The team at AVP Growth has made 19 investments in Europe and the US and is currently investing out of its second fund. Notable investments include Cognism, Phenom, Contrast, SecurityScorecard, and Sendcloud.
Key responsibilities include:
- Dealflow creation: identify and establish connections with European B2B SaaS companies.
- Pipeline maintenance: take minutes from calls with founders and ensure the pipeline is always up to date.
- Networking: establish and develop connections with other VCs. Going to events and conferences.
- Evaluation and pitching: present potential opportunities to the team regularly.
- Investment strategy development: contribute to AVP's investment theses by diving into specific sectors and formulating cutting-edge investment strategies.
- Financial analysis: perform analysis on historical performance and financial modelling to build different cases to support an investment decision.
- Due diligence: participate in due diligence including market research, competition analysis, reference calls, etc.
Requirements
Requirements
- Bac +5 in Engineering or Business (University / Grande Ecole);
- 1-3 years of consulting or investment banking experience at top firms;
- Excitement about technology, ideally including knowledge of enterprise software and financial technology;
- Excellent analytical and Excel modelling skills;
- Capability to absorb a large flow of information with the ability to synthesize and develop clear, well-argued recommendations;
- Team-oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills eager to work in a dynamic and ambitious environment;
- Fluent in English;
- Full right to work in France
