The clinical director is responsible for the medical governance, leadership, and coordination of care for Anaesthesia and Pain Management Services, Surgical Division.


The clinical director is responsible for the medical governance, leadership, and coordination of care for Anaesthesia and Pain Management Services, Surgical Division NCH. The clinical director is an experienced medical professional with specialty qualifications in anaesthetics and pain management. The clinical director leads their medical professional group including specialists, registrars, and junior medical officers. They have a critical role in supporting education and training for their workforce and in this position, they have a key clinical leadership role within the organisation.

This is 275 bed level 4 multi-discipline, modern public healthcare facility serving the community. 
The hospital supports a broad range of acute and sub-acute services including community-based care. The model of care sees multidisciplinary teams work collaboratively to provide a high quality of patient care to the hospital and associated community and ambulatory care services.


The new Hospital will be built on the existing Hospital campus, it will be a modern, state-of-the-art hospital for patients, visitors and its workforce and will provide more beds and increased services.


The Hospital is leading the drive to digitally transform health service delivery in Australia through the implementation of a territory wide Digital Health Record. Computer literacy skills are required which are relevant to this role as you will be responsible for completing required documentation and becoming a proficient user of the Digital Health Record and/or other Information Technology systems; once proficient, you will need to remain current with changes, updates and contingencies.
