The Sr. Financial Analyst will BE a crucial part of a team that is responsible for leading the financial analysis and support for Lilly Canada. The role will report to the Associate Director-Finance and serve as the financial leader for the assigned Business Unit and affiliate functions providing strategic direction, budget management and qualitative/quantitative inputs for various business projects to maximize opportunities for Lilly Canada.
This role is determined to BE a flexible worker, where on-site presence in the Toronto office is expected to BE 4-12 days per month, as determined by your manager and business needs.
Responsibilities :
Financial & Strategic Operations
Financial lead for the assigned Business Unit managing the P&L for products in all stages of lifecycle including launches and acquisitions
Demonstrate deep understanding of the business and budget management in order to manage Revenue, OPEX and OID actuals to plan; making strategic tradeoffs where needed
Collaborate closely with the Functional Leaders, Marketing, Forecasting and R&D teams
Develop analysis to inform business cases and projects across the affiliate
Understand the business implications of environmental and economic changes including PMPRB, public listings and competition
Exemplify high integrity, fiscal responsibility and business ownership
Forecasting & Annual Business Planning Process
Lead the quarterly forecasting process for the assigned Business Unit
Owner of the business plan process for the assigned Business Unit ensuring alignment and support across functions including Business Unit leader, marketing, sales and affiliate leadership
Thoroughly assess, challenge and recommend action on the strategic direction and financial submissions
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of multiple Excel and SAP submissions to Corporate
Monthly Reporting & Accounting Support
Prepare financial variances for month, quarter and YTD results to corporate providing understanding of business drivers and risks
Co-create monthly financial presentations and present financial results to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner
Oversee copay invoice and program cards payment process for select products
Manage the account reclassifications and account reconciliations including accruals for the Business Unit and support functions
Basic Requirements :
Bachelors' Degree or equivalent (MBA or MSc in Finance, Economics or in a similar technical field is preferred)
5+ years of experience in finance or planning/budgeting role
Additional Preferences :
Excellent quantitative technical ability with a good understanding of financial concepts such as NPV, ROI etc.
Interest in developing a deep understanding in pharmaceutical industry (existing experience in pharmaceutical industry is preferred)
Fluency in Excel and experience in SAP; experience in SQL, VBA, PowerBI, and other data visualization software a plus
Ability to work well with competing deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail
Demonstrated ability in driving innovation and solving complex problems
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills and ability to manage cross-functional partnerships
Strong written and oral communication skills
