Bar & Ski Host

Location

Espagne | France

Job description

Description

We are looking for social people with a hospitality background and a passion for skiing to join our overseas team as a Bar & Ski Host in one of our Chalet-Hotels next winter.  The successful applicant will need to hold an EU passport (or have the right) to work in France, Austria and Spain.

The Bar & Ski Host is one of the most visible roles in our chalet-hotels, so they are essential to our operation in resort and are a main point of contact for keeping our guests happy.  Without the engaging personalities of our staff, their cleanliness, attention to detail and fantastic hosting skills we wouldn’t have so many repeat bookers.  It is the Host’s job to ensure our guests are not on just any ski holiday but to make sure they have the true ‘Ski Miquel Experience’.

This is a highly sociable role for people who are willing to work hard and enjoy all that the mountains have to offer.  If you do, you will be rewarded with a job that gives you plenty of skiing time and guest interaction, making it ideal for someone who is outgoing and loves meeting new people.

The Company
We are a family-run business based in Hove in the UK with over 40 years’ experience in the travel industry and with 85% of our bookings as repeat guests or word-of-mouth recommendations, we like to think we're pretty good at what we do!

The company was founded in 1980, after our owner and a colleague decided to start their own travel business.  With five permanent members of staff in our ‘offices’ when guests or staff call or e-mail; they know exactly who their talking to.  We're upfront and personal, and we want to talk directly to our customers so that we can provide the best level of service for them again and again.  We work hard to achieve the level of service that our customers have come to expect, creating a fun and friendly atmosphere in our chalets is our main aim, and we do this by ensuring that we hire the best staff.

Principal Tasks
This is a split role, focussing primarily on covering the chalet-hotel bar and ski hosting with our guests, although some Chalet Host duties will also be involved. The following is an outline of the principal tasks that are expected of our Chalet Hosts and Bar & Ski Hosts:

Cleaning the guest rooms (including the toilets and showers) on transfer days.

Cleaning the communal areas on transfer days and when the bar is quiet.
