AESC is currently seeking a Commissioning C&I (Controls & Instrumentation) Site Specialist for a significant Engineering-Procurement-Construction project. This project involves the development of never-before-built production lines on a large scale, surpassing previous limitations. Essential Job Functions:
• Support the build, commissioning and installation activities
• Participate in Factory Witness Testing
• Review work method statement and Inspection test plan for areas turned over to the
client.
• Oversee commissioning activities to fit into the project schedule.
• Meet with project stakeholders to discuss commissioning activities, report on progress,
and request adequate commissioning time.
• Sequences of operations development and documentation
• Working hands on to test, document and commission products using defined processes
• Testing and completion of handover documentation and formalities on project
completion
• Verifying Instrumentation, PLC’s, and VFD’s are installed per design and match product
submittals.
• Working directly with our controls team to loop test instrumentation, set-up VFD
parameters, and upload coding into PLC’s.
• Coordinating punchiest closeout for your respected scope.
• Supporting vendors and commissioning team members with site acceptance testing of
equipment and complete integrated systems.
• Comprehension of logic diagrams in the International Automation format for complex
logic devices such as Programmable Logical Controller and Distributed Control System
• Report performance trends/issues to management and recommend solutions
• Support vendors in equipment startup.
• Performance testing of completed systems.
• Ensure systems are started up per defined SOO’s (sequence of operations)
• Assure systems are built per approved P&ID’s.
Skills Requirements:
• Qualifications in the field of Electrical Engineering or appropriate industry experience and knowledge.
• 5+ Years’ experience in a similar role within a similar role of contracting environment.
• Overall maintenance on a variety of production and facilities equipment applying good
engineering practices.
• Equipment startup experience (witnessing contractor activation and testing of equipment)
• Basic understanding of PLC’s, Instrumentation, and SCADA systems.
• Experience within fast paced manufacturing is a must.
• An understanding of safety circuits
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Planning and organizational skills.
• Communication skills; listens and gets clarification.
• Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
• Good communication skills in English and French .
• Treats people with respect; works with integrity and ethics.
• Follows through on commitments; willing to do what it takes to meet company objectives.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, climb
and walk on structures more than 100 feet above the ground
