As a Data Center Installation Technician, you'll play a vital role in building cloud infrastructure by delivering, positioning, and installing server racks within our client's data centers. Responsibilities
- Ensure timely arrival at clients" sites with all necessary equipment, uniform, procedures, documentation, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Unload, unpack, and position IT hardware, including server racks, using power tools as necessary
- Lift and handle loads up to 30-40 kg, occasionally up to 50 kg, employing safe lifting techniques
- Assist in cabling server racks by patching and dressing fiber and copper cables (training provided where necessary)
- Maintain industry-leading customer service levels by acting professionally with clients and colleagues
- Adhere to clients" procedures and requirements, including health and safety protocols and security measures
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, managers, planners, and supervisors, providing timely reports on arrival times, delays, safety concerns, and task completion
- Complete daily checklists and provide reports on activities, including general administrative tasks
- Perform any other duties assigned in line with your skills and competencies
We're looking for someone with
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail
- A valid Class B driving license with a clean driving record
- Basic experience with hand and power tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and email
- Language proficiency: B1 level in English and A2 level French
It would be even better
- Prior experience in a data center, logistics, or construction environment
- Flexibility and willingness to travel for work
- Ability to complete checklists in Excel (or Teams) based on daily activities
- Previous experience with the installation of structured cabling, including fiber and copper
