Job description
À propos de nous
WHO WE ARE
We design today and we will build and operate tomorrow a fleet of airships, the LCA60T, intended for cargo transport. Capable of loading and unloading up to 60 tons of cargo (wood, wind turbine blades, containers, mobile hospitals, etc.) in hovering flight, with a reduced environmental footprint, this transport system is unprecedented.
At FLYING WHALES, we have a bold vision that brings together more than 130 pioneers and about 40 partner companies. These pioneers of the 21st century, men and women, bring their desire, their passion and their know-how every day to give birth to a new transportation solution, but also to an idea. The idea that societies must be able to continue to create links in order to develop.
This is the mission that FLYING WHALES has set itself: to open up isolated regions in the world while helping to reduce CO2 emissions in the transport sector thanks to a low-carbon aircraft.
Would you like to help us write one of the pages of aeronautics history? Here is the pioneer we are looking for:
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a Maintainability Engineer within the Physical Architecture Department.
Mission
YOUR MISSIONS :
- Perform the maintainability analysis of electrical systems and avionics. The electrical systems include components for the generation, storage, distribution and conversion of electrical power (low-voltage and high-voltage generators, AC and DC Buses, transformers & rectifiers, wiring and harnesses, batteries, electric motors…) and a data network between equipment using aircraft data protocol standards. The avionics system is composed of several control computers, cockpit and communication equipment, navigation / flight control probes & sensors and data concentrators. The detailed tasks are:
- Conduct technical system analysis to capture the functional and physical system design
- Identify scheduled maintenance tasks and their interval as well as unscheduled maintenance events based on the system design data (3D design, specifications, drawings), supplier data, by applying aviation standards such as MSG-3 & S4000P and by comparison to other aircraft models
- Identify the required support (standard and special tools, tool kits, equipment, consumables, spare parts, personnel…) to perform the maintenance task
- Perform the Maintenance Task Analysis within CATIA for specific maintenance tasks considering the operational environment, Human Factors and Ergonomics: integrate tools & equipment; define Keep-Out-Zones for maintenance; simulate step-by-step how the maintenance will be performed; identify potential design improvements to increase supportability
- Ensure accessibility to components / items, ease of removal and replacement, testability and repairability
- Investigate in condition-monitoring, health-monitoring and innovative test means to increase supportability
- Contribute to ground tests to validate maintainability assumptions / identified means
- Define supportability requirements for the systems / components / items
- Specify and/or make a preliminary design in CATIA of special tools required to perform the identified maintenance tasks
- Align with suppliers on maintainability and product support aspects
Participate in design reviews with the systems engineering team and perform trade-off studies for supportability. Provide inputs on design decisions that can impact the supportability
Profil
YOUR EDUCATION & EXPERIENCES:
- Bac+5 Aeronautical Engineer (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Maintainability Engineer; Integrated Logistic Support Engineer; RAMS Engineer; Maintenance technician or similar on electrical systems / avionics
YOUR COMPETENCIES :
- Very good knowledge on aviation electrical systems and avionics (scheduled und unscheduled maintenance, testability, reliability, repairs/replacement/troubleshooting, avionics data protocols, wiring diagrams)
- Good knowledge of CATIA V6 (3DEXPERIENCE environment) or similar CAD software
- Good knowledge on Maintenance Task Analysis
- Good knowledge on Human Factor analysis and Human engineering standards
- Good MS office skills
- Knowledge of other ASD specifications (S3000L, S1000D) as a plus
YOUR QUALITIES:
- Logical mindset and strong analytical skills
- Good problem solving and solution building skills
- Excellent verbal and very good written communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and to participate in technical reviews, program reviews and to be in contact with suppliers
- Positive attitude, initiative, pro-activeness, and passion
- Willingness to work in multidisciplinary cross-functional teams
- Good resistance to stress
You will become a pioneer if:
• You develop and implement innovative maintainability solutions that go beyond industry average; enhancing the LCA60T supportability over its complete life cycle
WHAT WE OFFER:
- Contribution to your success from day 1 with our WHALECOME ONBOARDING and your Buddy.
- Conviviality (common activities, internal parties, breakfasts, etc.)
