Job description
As the Civil Design Senior Engineer, you will advise the origination and preconstruction teams in the early stages of opportunity development, utilizing satellite imagery, land data, and renewable energy system design, with involvement spanning sales, development, design, permitting, procurement, and construction. Evey day your responsibilities will extend to preparing and assessing technical specifications for foundation designs and construction site plans, collaborating closely with the Supply Chain department on RFPs, and effectively managing contractors involved in installation, civil work, geotechnical aspects, foundation construction, and vegetation management. This position will sits in Chicago, IL / Distributed Renewables and reports to the Manager of Civil Engineering.
What you bring : Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or related field Licensed Professional Engineer where you conducted quality control for Civil drawings, obtaining/maintaining Professional Engineering licenses A Minimum five (5) years' experience in a Civil engineering role where you performed Civil design tasks throughout the design and construction process You are experienced in Land Developement site design, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GIS, finding enjoyment in applying your skills You appreciate extensive site grading and stormwater management design as part of your preferred experience You are passionate about the renewable energy industry, particularly in working with photovoltaic solar arrays and/or battery energy storage systems You enjoy the challenge of acquiring PE licenses for multiple states and traveling (25%) You are proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications, you find satisfaction in taking decisive action, assuming ownership, and thriving in a collaborative team environment Additional Information/Conditions : Must BE eligible to work for any U.S. employer without the need for sponsorship now or in the future Must BE willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate Ability to meet highest attendance requirements Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy Ability to use company issued computer Could involve some lifting Physically able to visit and walk renewable energy sites throughout the US for extended periods of time in hot or cold weather conditions Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must BE met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job Reasonable accommodations may BE made to enable individuals with the needed assistance to perform the essential functions This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule consisting of in-office and work-from-home opportunities The safety of our employees is our number one priority.
