Alstom is developing worldwide its railway systems and infrastructure activities. These cover conventional light rail, underground and mainline railways and also a host of innovative solutions.
The purpose of this job is to
Manage the platform design and construction methods definition for
- Tender & Projects as agreed with Regions
- R&D program as agreed with Track Solutions & Competitiveness Manager
Develop the Track competencies of the Platform team
Support the Regions to develop the local teams competencies
Organisation Structure
Track Engineering Manager reports to Solution Director Trackworks, Depot Equipment and Civil Works, within Infrastructure Platform organization
Responsibilities
Work closely with the Track platform core team (Trackworks & DEQ Solutions Director, Track Technical Director, Engineering Manager, Trackwork Solutions & Competitiveness Manager, CW Manager)
Deliver tender and project designs, including associated construction methods, as agreed with regions in collaboration with "Trackworks Solutions & Competitiveness Manager" with a focus on Basic Design and specific expertise (ie alignment, )
Support the Regions to carry out design locally
Support the deployment of construction methods on projects
Develop training of track technical staff for regions
In collaboration with regions identify "metier leaders" and WCE experts. Ensure that these functions improve cooperation between "central" and regions
Specific missions to regions for priority tasks where there is a major business risk
In collaboration with "innovation" pole, carry out development work
In collaboration with "competitivity" pole, update reference libraries
Develop and lead the track CCN
Develop track team in critical areas + BIM + Survey + Alignment + Train-track interface + Train-track-environmental interface + Electrification-track interface
Lead the Trackwork Engineering team
Educational Requirements
Qualified Engineer from any engineering discipline,
Another non-engineering diploma or professional qualifications is an advantage
Experience knowledge of all stages of Railway projects
Desired Knowledge / Experience
10 years of railway infrastructure experience
Track record covering all aspects
Knowledge of other Railway systems and their interaction with trackwork
Understanding of integration of track in railway system
Experience of team-building (in several countries)
Behavioural and Technical Skills / Competencies
Ability to develop technical team from outline brief
Facility to integrate commercial aims into technical solutions
Facility to communicate with international clients, consultants and contractors
Facility to forge team with track innovations and competivity functions
Knowledge of technical solutions for other railway disciplines (signalling, rolling stock, civils)
