Purpose of Position (Summary)
This Technician performs maintenance and start-up interventions at Customers" locations, mainly in Fixed Gas and Flame Detection products, and on Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus test benches (SmartCheck)
Maintenance (preventative – corrective)
- Responsible for a certain amount of maintenance contracts in his geographical area
- Fulfills the contracts at Customers" sites (preventive maintenance): plans the visits, orders spares, prepare documentation and tooling, makes safety risk analysis, maintains and issues complete, honest and undebatable reports in a timely manner
- Goes to Customers on emergency calls for corrective maintenance
- Product Groupe serviced: Portable Gas Detectors/14 (Fixed Gas and Flame Detection) and Portable Gas20 (Wingrip) + Portable Gas01 (SCBAs test benches) according to the market/ team/ area needs
- Responsible for own car stock. – e.g. order parts, monitors inventory
- Supports calculation of contracts quotes by estimating required hours, parts and kilometers
Start up – commissioning of Engineering To Order projects (Projects management)
- Once delivered and installed by the Customer or our subcontractor, the technician checks the installation / system, powers it and make all relevant actions to make the system meet the order"s requirements
- Performs the Site Acceptance Test with the Customer, gets the Customer"s approval
Warranty and sales support
- Fixes warranty and Quality issues at Customer"s locations. Supports sales in appointments, technical assistance etc
Misc
- Project Work and daily business
- Cooperation in projects to improve service processes
Experience (required)
- 2 years in a technical position in an industrial environment
Experience (preferred)
- 5 years as a field Service engineer
- Instruments/measuring/detection, electromechanics, pneumatics
Education (required)
- Electronics/Electrical technician (BTS / IUT degree)
Education (preferred)
Travel: 90% at Customers / 10% home office/others. Estimated driving time 30%.
