Purpose of the job :
The Head of Projects Execution is fully accountable for the integrated execution of each of the development stages of the project, from scheduling, costs assessment, mobilization to handover to O&M team. Accordingly, the Head of Projects Execution shall direct and control the project execution phase, related governance aspects and integration / coordination of the various project streams between the different stakeholders, in accordance with the Group KPI's, management, policies, procedures, budget, HSE, quality standards and applicable legal regulations
Key activities and competencies
1 Strategic
Acting on behalf of Engie (the project owner), deploy the Engie project management and control governance and policies to ensure projects are delivered within time, quality and cost parameters.
2. Your responsibilities will include;
- Accountable for the delivery of large scale and complex renewable energy projects throughout the GCC, specifically KSA.
- Responsible for delivering projects within time, quality and cost parameters with a focus on Health and Safety.
- Managing multiple projects concurrently, ranging from design consultants to EPC's and testing and commissioning.
- Responsible for establishing project delivery and project control plans in accordance with Engie's governance systems and processes.
- BE fluent with project scheduling and BE ultimately responsible for the schedule management including monitoring the overall construction schedule of the project by integrating the Contractors' schedules from the design phase to the scheduling of permits, authorizations and the contractual obligations to BE fulfilled prior to project execution.
- BE fluent with financial and risk management processes, managing budgets, change management and contract execution.
- BE able to analyse and review complex data from a range of sources and identify how subjects could impact project progress.
- Work in collaboration with the Head of Asset Management to draft project progress reports to identify project progress compared to the baseline and milestone dates and agreed project KPI's.
- Prepare timely weekly, monthly and ad-hoc project reports on project progress to the key stakeholders;
- Lead design, technical and contractual meetings with the key project stakeholders; EPC Contractors, Off-taker, utility suppliers, environmental authorities, not limited to.
- Review the commissioning procedures received from the EPC contractor and coordinate with the O&M contractor.
- Monitor overall team performance and initiate any required safety or performance improvement measures and methodologies.
- Lead a large team of Project Managers, setting objectives, managing personnel performance and setting development objectives.
6. Working with others
You will BE a strong project leader retaining superb communication and management skills to ensure the project team is empowered and motivated to deliver the project successfully. You will support Business Development in terms of Project Execution costs, Scheduling and EPC contractor RFQ. You will ensure a seamless handover transition from Business Development through the EPC phase to the O&M team.

Required Qualifications
Qualifications
- University Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Thermal Engineering or related Construction discipline.
- Additional qualifications and registrations would BE advantageous (HSE, project management, finance, business management).
Experience
- Minimum 20 years' experience in construction of medium to large scale power, utility and renewable projects (Waste Heat Recovery for Cement or Steel factories, Off-grid cogenerations, large ground mounted PV solar, on-site Steam generation)
- Large Construction experience on-site
- Solid understanding of Project Management processes.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Good knowledge of renewable energy sources, construction of power plants and associated technical and contractual understanding.
- Familiar with PPA project structures, project finance documents, medium and utility-scale EPC contracts.
- Off grid power, microgrid knowledge.
- Experience in Saudi Arabia would BE advantageous.
Knowledge and Skills
- Requires strong character as he/she will BE in front line with the Contractors, Owners' Engineer, Off taker, the Authorities and representatives of partners in the Project Company.
- Strong technical knowledge of large-scale projects (renewable energy production) which will allow him/her to rapidly identify potential issues on site, to investigate and address them together with the Contractors and the Owner's Engineer.
- Good knowledge and experience of construction processes, industry best practices, contracts, and international standards.
- Strong contract/claim management and negotiations skills.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Must BE able to work both independently and lead team structures with ability to bridge cultural differences.
- Goal and result orientated, able to prioritize issues in the best interest of the project.
- Highest ethical standards.
- Ability to work in broad cultural spectrum and lead multiple teams.
- Ability to communicate well with all stakeholders, both in writing and verbally.
- Fluent in English language, Arabic language is advantageous.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
- Projects will predominantly BE off grid, the project manager will BE expected to travel domestically and internationally between construction sites/workplaces and Engie offices/events.
