Job description

The University of Aruba is a young university and consists of four faculties, namely the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Accounting, Finance & Marketing, the Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management Studies and the Faculty of Arts and Science. These faculties are supported by the offices & centers, of which one is the Center of Lifelong Learning (CLL). CLL is mainly responsible for the coordination regarding the activities and goals of the Center of Lifelong Learning.

COORDINATOR CENTER OF LIFELONG LEARNING (1.0 fte)

• You are responsible for coordinating the department and its employees (1.5 fte);
• Create, plan and implement Lifelong Learning activities, including lectures, courses and conferences;
• You will coordinate and monitor the entire process surrounding CLL activities. In this you have both an operational and an advising role;
• You will be responsible for marketing activities in cooperation with other departments;
• You are the budget holder for your department;
• You are responsible for internal and external communication;
• You oversee and monitor the internal processes and identify areas for improvement in them;
• You anticipate on market trends and technology relating to learning activities;
• Maintain and expand the network of the University.

Job requirements:

• Preferably a master’s degree;
• A minimum of 3 years of management experience and preferably within Higher Education;
• Experience in budget management & financial reconciliations;
• Excellent verbal and written command of the English, Papiamento and Dutch language; Spanish is a plus;
• Experience with various learning platforms and social media;
• Excellent IT-skills specifically in MS Office (such as Word, Powerpoint and Teams).

• You have a flexible attitude; you may occasionally be required to perform work outside office hours;
• Able to work independently and with minimal supervision;
• Can switch to perform a wide range of different activities and processes.
