R&D Mechanical Designer m/f/d

In this role you will focus on maintain and develop contactors between 9A and 96A.
You will join one of our multifunctional Agile Team and be fully accountable of the activity assigned to you, you will have the possibility to interact with the product owner and support in the definition of the global product strategy.
You will report to R&D Electromechanical Chapter Leader, and you will become part of Load Control Agile Unit in Chassieu. The unit is part of the ABB Electrification/Smart Power division, and its mission is to develop, maintain globally low voltage products. Targeting new and existing sectors like renewable energy, Rail, etc.
Your responsibilities
- Together with the other designer you will work on developing new solutions.
- You will maintain the actual product platform according to the Agile Team mission.
- You will contribute to different phases of the project, from the idea to production.
- You will be interacting with local and global stakeholders and manufacturing units.
- You will be a part of the Electromechanical Design chapter and contribute to the technical growth of all the team, sharing best practice and lessons learned.
Your background
- At least Bachelor degree in Mechanic, Electronic, Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar design role.
- Knowledge of different material technologies (Metal, plastic,...).
- Good knowledge of CAD software (CREO is a plus).
- Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodology is a plus.
- Fluency in English and French (written and spoken).
- Ability to prioritize, structure and drive your work by yourself.
- Strong awareness of Health, Safety and Security rules: HSE is everyone's business.
