ENGIE Distributed Solar and Storage (an ENGIE North America company) is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to join our Engineering and Delivery team. We are looking for highly motivated individuals that enjoy being challenged each day. This position represents the technical design authority on Electrical Engineering within the Distributed Solar and Storage team. The candidate who fills this position should BE confident in their decision-making abilities and have enough experience to back up their logic. This person will BE accountable for all aspects of Electrical design for rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV and battery energy storage installations throughout the US. This individual's work will BE provided to installation contractors, utilities, permitting authorities, clients, and system owners as part of the complete design of renewable energy assets. This individual will collaborate with various departments on requests to develop, design, and optimize the projects.
This posisiton will sit in Chicago / Distributed Solar & Storage Manager of Engineering, Engineering & Project Delivery.
What you'll do :
Accountable for creation and maintenance of Electrical engineering standards for Distributed Generation engineering team
Perform quality control for all internally and externally produced Electrical drawings. Stamps and seals Electrical plans as required by portfolio. Obtains or maintains Professional Engineering licenses throughout the country
Capable of overseeing Electrical design of numerous projects simultaneously
Remain up to date on new technologies and regulatory conditions including codes, industry standards, best practices, customer requirements, and other relevant standards
Advise origination and preconstruction teams during early stage opportunity development process by sizing and selecting electrical equipment. Stages of overall involvement include sales and development, design and permitting, procurement, and construction
Review system drawing sets for purposes of bidding, permitting, and construction in accordance with ENGIE design standards, NEC, IEEE and any other local codes
Audit Electrical contractors to confirm adherence to plans and specifications. Ensure that all installation RFIs meet Electrical code requirements
Provide leadership, guidance, instruction, and mentorship to less experienced electrical engineers
Assist other teams such as category management and finance as needed
What you bring :
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer
Minimum of Seven (7) + years' experience in an Electrical engineering role
Preferred experience in Renewable Energy site design, Electrical engineering department management
Experience within the energy industry, preferably with Distribution Systems
Ability to create, read and interpret construction plans and specifications
Shows a bias for action and continuous improvement. Takes ownership
Thrives in a team environment and assists others as needed
Proficient in AutoCAD design software is preferred
Must hold a valid driver's license
Travel required (up to 25%)

Ability to use company issued computer
Could involve some lifting

Salary Range : $119, 570-$172, 500 USD annually
Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors
In addition to salary, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan
