Job description
We are recruiting a Director of Data Sciences on behalf of our client, a pioneering international entity in the health and food industries. This company is committed to sustainability and innovation, with a significant presence globally. As part of its digital transformation journey, our client is seeking a Director of Data Sciences to join its Centre of Excellence for R&D.
Main Missions
- Digital Transformation Advocacy: The Director of Data Sciences will be instrumental in defining and executing the digital transformation strategy within R&D, focusing on developing a robust information system architecture that aligns with the overarching digital goals of the organization
- Leadership and Team Development: You will lead the BioData team, focusing on cultivating a diverse set of digital technical skills necessary for the evolving landscape of statistics, data processing, bioinformatics, AI, and software engineering
- Scientific Innovation: Uphold a culture of scientific excellence in areas critical to the organization's goals, such as system and synthetic biology, omics, and microbiology. This role involves leveraging digital technology to enhance scientific research and innovation
- Collaboration and Process Optimization: Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation within and outside the R&D department. The Director will play a key role in enhancing project management processes and interdepartmental cooperation, aiming for groundbreaking innovations
Profile Requirements
- Ph.D. or equivalent in bioinformatics, biology, data science, or related fields. A Master's degree with significant experience is also acceptable
- A minimum of 10 years in a leadership role, with a strong emphasis on team management and project oversight in a multidisciplinary setting
- Outstanding leadership capabilities with a track record of managing diverse teams
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective collaborations with internal and external stakeholders, including startups, government bodies, and NGOs
- Required expertise in at least three of the following areas: biology, microbiology, omics, advanced statistics, big data, bioinformatics, or AI, with a focus on leveraging these skills in R&D initiatives
