International Controller
The following position is open in Madrid , Spain .
What makes this a great opportunity?
This role’s mission is to provide financial control over financial activities within the International Region, including Fully Owned Markets, Third Parties and the Global Travel Retail Business. The International Controller will have oversight responsibility for this function and be responsible for delivering value-adding decision support.
Role Responsibilities
- Accountable for internal control framework across the Region, including developing and implementing internal controls plans.
- Responsible for managing end-to-end group and statutory closing across the Region.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and Company Accounting Policies and procedures.
- Leading Balance Sheet planning activities and regularly providing analysis on deviations vs Budget/Forecasts.
- Key stakeholder on reviewing commercial agreements to identify Accounting impacts.
- Provide Accounting support on key group’s projects, M&A, ERP implementations, new Routes to Market expansions.
- Oversee and approve maintenance of Risk & Control Matrix across the Region.
- Manage relationship with External and Internal auditors.
- Responsible for preparing annual detailed Deep Dive business finance/balance sheet review program for all reporting units in the Region.
- Act as the reference for all Regional Technical Accounting matters, including M&A transactions and RTM Reviews, liaising with the Corporate Controlling Team when necessary.
- Key role on discussions with stakeholders in all relevant areas of the business: Tax, Treasury, Global Service Centre, Corporate, IT, Procurement, FP&A.
Qualifications
- 10 to 15 years professional experience.
- Chartered Accountant/CPA/ACA/Audit experience in Big-4 will be an advantage.
- Track record of working with Internal Controls (ideally Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) environment).
- Deep knowledge of IFRS; experience reviewing financial accounting transactions will be beneficial.
- A proven record of working as a business partner with both staff and line managers.
