Position Purpose
The Global UX Lead is responsible for the shaping and implementing of the strategy and roadmap for UX Design and research across Brambles Enterprises.
This includes ensuring ways of working, product ownership and collaboration in a cohesive environment . You’ll lead a diverse global team across various UX domains including Design Standards, DesignOps, Research and user Experience Design applied to Brambles digital big Rocks and brambles Enterprises in house products such as MyChep.
You'll play a key role in driving brambles’ UX maturity from an emergent stage to an integrated one, requiring effective evangelization and influence across regions and functions.
Additionally, the role will involve strategy-aligned resource allocation considering budget contracts and managing high volume of stakeholder requests.
Major / Key Accountabilities
- Develop and articulate a comprehensive UX strategy aligned with Brambles Digital North Star and Commitments.
- Collaborate with senior key stakeholders (Digital leadership team) to ensure a clear understanding of business requirements and user needs to adapt the strategy and roadmap.
- Be the most senior PoC, internally or externally in all aspects of UX, being able to provide direction and council to decision makers.
- Lead the execution of the UX roadmap, ensuring timely delivery of key milestones and objectives.
- Oversee multiple streams of UX, including Design Standards, DesignOps, User Research, and User Experience Design.
- Provide strong leadership to a global team, fostering collaboration and innovation.
- Drive a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and accountability within the UX team
- Evangelize the importance of UX across regions and global functions, influencing stakeholders to prioritize and invest in UX initiatives.
- Advocate for a user-centric approach throughout the organization.
- Work towards elevating Brambles' UX maturity from emergent to integrated by implementing best practices and industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate UX into the overall product development lifecycle.
- Define and implement effective UX resource allocation strategies in collaboration with the resource and planning team, considering budget constraints and managing a high volume of UX requests.
- Ensure the optimal utilization of resources to meet business and user experience goals. Establishing new department within the digital office.
- Working with new product development as well as product refreshers.
- Global scope with a matrix environment.
- Building designs that are consistent across user groups (internal & external) and product suites.
Experience
- Significant experience in leading and shaping up research and design global UX teams and driving UX strategy within large enterprises, ideally in a software solution focused environment.
- Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to align UX initiatives with business objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to evangelize and influence stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
- Experience in managing budgets and making strategic resource allocation decisions.
- Deep understanding of Design Standards, DesignOps, User Research, and User Experience Design.
- Proven experience in driving organizational change towards a more mature UX culture.
- Strong background and domain knowledge in software lifecycle.
- Proven leadership in managing UX teams, preferably in a technology company or enterprise software setting. Must demonstrate the ability to teach and foster collaboration between UX and engineering teams.
Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications
- Presentation skills ability to present to an executive audience plus clients & team internally.
- Designing, leading, and understanding research projects via workshops, focus groups and client collaboration to identify user needs.
- Tertiary Qualification in any relevant field / equivalent practical experience
- Desirable - Master’s or PhD degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Experimental Psychology, Anthropology, Information Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
