RecruitGibraltar are currently helping our client who is a leading insurance company with a global footprint, who has a great opportunity for an Underwriting Team Leader to join this high performance team. The group has nearly 230 employees, is moving into an expansion phase, is progressive and ambitious, has a policy of promoting from within and has a dedication to professional training and progression.

You will supervise the Underwriting Department and assess risks in an objective, profitable and competitive manner, develop and service nominated accounts and customers in accordance with current underwriting guidelines and authority limits in an objective, profitable and competitive manner. Establish develop and maintain relationships with all external stakeholders, such as brokers, clients, PR contacts etc.

What will you do as an Underwriting Team Leader?

• Supervise the Underwriting Department members. Be responsible for performance management, staff training and development of the team.
• Make underwriting decisions to attract new and retain existing business.
• Respond to internal and external client queries in person, by phone or e-mail.
• Supervise and implement the Underwriting Team’s servicing of nominated accounts, customers and brokers. Establish and maintain the relationships, including making regular visits, in order to best meet their insurance and business requirements.
• Supervise the undertaking of Monthly renewals.

Previous experience in a similar Underwriting insurance role
Fluent in English and Spanish
Strong Analytical and problem-solving skill
Good Negotiation and interpersonal skills
Excellent communication and presentation skill
Preferably Cert CII

Salary circa £35k - £40k based on experience with bonus and benefits package.
