Job Description Job overview:The Patient Engagement (PE) & Communication Manager is accountable for the development and implementation of an integrated PE & Communication plans within Iberia. The person in this role will lead dynamic communities of practice, market shaping initiatives, brand communication for Products/Biogen pipeline, reputation building, patient advocacy strategy. issues management and internal communication. The incumbent will be supporting the Spanish leadership team members/brand leads, providing strategic counsel and implementation support on executive communications, leadership communications as well as employee inclusion and engagement. This position requires strong collaboration and networking across Biogen. As a member of the International and Global Corporate Affairs team, this role will work cross-functionally with colleagues in global, regional and in the affiliates. Principal accountabilities:Develop and deliver an integrated communications strategy that raises the profile of Biogen's brands, portfolio and proactively positions Biogen as a leader in neuroscience. Stay abreast of internal and external developments and industry trends as they pertain to Biogen priorities and ensure timely and relevant communications. Develop, implement and oversee an internal communications plan that prepares internal communications for the Spanish affiliate/leadership team (providing strategic counsel and implementation support on executive and leadership communications), drive employee inclusion and engagement, ensure employee understanding of Biogen's strategy, priorities and related actions, as well as connect employees with our leaders and their vision; reinforce desired culture and mindset. Work together with HR in the employee comms strategy. On a Spanish level, support dynamic communities of practice, market shaping initiatives, reputation building and issues management. Drive integrated corporate affairs strategic activities, working closely with colleagues in corporate communications, media relations, social media, patient advocacy to enhance Biogen's reputation; establish strategies for addressing business critical topics and work with representatives of other functions to develop multi-stakeholder engagement plansProvide support to the strategic engagement plan led by PE&C, including patient Advocacy, media, trade associations. Lead Spanish communities of practice across affiliates that optimize end-to-end support through central capabilities; conduct trainings to help prepare and support colleagues in affiliates; ensure designated spokespersons are trained and ready to speak when selected appropriately. Define engagement plans for Patient Advocacy Groups, develop messages and appropriate patient-friendly materials, tools and channels as well as lead and support educational and disease awareness initiatives Work with relevant teams to support company's success and take patients needs into account as business decisions are made• Help build the capabilities of patient advocates and improve the healthcare system in partnership with third-party experts. Partner with PAGs to provide expertise, information and tools that will help improve standards of care, access and health outcomes for patients. Qualifications Minimum Education Requirements:Bachelor's degree required; Master relevant field preferred. Fluent in Spanish & EnglishPortuguese would be a plus. Minimum Experience Requirements:5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a variety of corporate affairs, comms disciplines, or in consultancy agencies. Demonstrated creativity and innovation in strategy and execution and flexible to find the right balance in working strategically and operationally; agile and hands-on mentality; enjoys a fast-paced, often unpredictable environmentOutstanding interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively within a matrix team, and with a wide array of internal and external stakeholders on complex issues, effectively work across functions with strong collaboration skillsOutstanding verbal and written communications skillsAbility to work in a geographical and culturally diverse environmentStrong business acumen with a solid background in pharma/biotech industryCreative, innovative, agile and flexible Additional Information Why Biogen?
