Job description

Communications ManagerWe are looking for our first ever dedicated Comms Manager who can rise to the thrilling opportunity of building a comms function from scratch - in a business that already has a proven product that customers love. As a key member of the Brand, Content & Comms leadership team, you’ll shape the narratives that propel Make forward to maintain its highly relevant position and perspective in the automation space. You’ll also lead the execution of these narratives to amplify our voice in a mix of channels, from executive thought leadership to PR and analyst relations. Our ideal candidate will already be known for their creativity, their insight and their ability to bring a story to life. You’ll need to have your finger on the pulse of - and be able to quickly craft a Make angle on - everything from global geopolitics to what our competitors are doing. You will have a track record in quickly building trust with senior executives, capably guiding them through complex and sensitive situations. What you’ll do:Develop, own and execute our long-term communications strategy, positioning Make as a leader in the minds of our target audiences by managing a range of earned and owned channels, including media, analysts and trade eventsBuild a reputation as a trusted communications expert with stakeholders across Make to ensure you stay updated on the latest plans, business objectives, issues and ideasDevelop a strong perspective on our product, our audience and our business objectivesCraft narratives that amplify Make’s position as a leaders in the automation, no-code and AI spaces, and translate them into plans and deliverables that drive favorable coverage of MakeIn partnership with Product Marketing, develop top-line narratives and messaging that seamlessly translate down to product and feature level storiesWork with the wider marketing team to turn narratives into content that is consistently executed across our owned channels, including press releases, blog posts and leadership messagesDraft presentations, talking points and/or briefing packs for executives speaking to media, at events or in other external-facing contexts, and manage their presence at speaking engagementsGrow and strengthen our bench of external speakersManage press and analyst relationships to amplify our story, and source, select and manage agencies to assist in thisMonitor and suggest responses to relevant global, local, industry and company level stories and eventsDevelop plans to ensure Make is well prepared to respond to a crisis situationWork closely with the Social Media Manager to ensure we seize the opportunities these channels offerAlign with the People team to ensure internal comms activities match our external voice and objectivesDevelop stories that showcase the diverse people and places where Make is being usedExercise impeccable judgment, flexibility and discretion in high pressure situationsManage budgets and resources effectively to ensure the best outcomes for MakeWhat we are looking for:3-5 years of experience in B2B communications, with a background in press, exec management and ideally some experience of analyst relationsProven track record in crafting narratives that simplify complex ideas, and executing them in an array of earned and paid channelsProven operator who is at ease managing external stakeholders including press, event organizers and agenciesCoach that’s adept at helping spokespeople navigate external engagementsAt ease working with (and challenging) people at the most senior levels of the organizationComfortable managing agency relationships, ensuring Make gets the best value from ongoing engagementsA master communicator who can easily craft words and ideas to explain complex ideasThoughtful strategist with a background in applying creative approaches to solve complex business problemsRelationship builder who can seize opportunities and maximise partnerships to amplify Make’s storyTrack record in measuring comms performanceEffective leader who can manage multiple people on a projectComfortable working in a fast paced scaleup environment, with an ability to work iteratively and cover both strategy and executionWhat we offerRSUs grant in a rapidly growing company raising its value every dayMultinational team with 40+ nationalities creating the future of automationLearning & Development plan25 days of vacation, 24th&31st Dec company holidayExtra parental vacation (3-6 months)RSUs grant for a newborn childGym passA subscription to Headspace - a leading mindfulness and meditation platformMeal and transportation tickes, medical insurancefamily leave program, offering 24 weeks of paid leave for main carers and12 weeks for supporting carers#careeratmake#LI-BP1#J-18808-Ljbffr
