DESCRIPTION
Our Procurement team is growing and we are hiring an Energy Category Manager to support the growth of the Renewable Program in EU, to strategically source onsite renewable energy including rooftop Solar, Wind, Hydrogen and Battery Storage products and services.
The person in this role will coordinate with several teams across Amazon and will interact with our most important suppliers to satisfy organizational requirements. The position will work and partner with multiple teams to develop and execute category sourcing strategies, deliver savings and improve productivity across the category.
Experience in the solar industry is required: EPC contract execution, price (€/W) and supply chain of main equipment negotiation, technical and economical understanding of the solar market and regulations. Wind/Hydrogen/BESS experience is desired.
This role can be based in Barcelona, London or Luxembourg

OVERVIEW:
As a Category Manager responsible for Energy, you will create and own the strategic relationship with suppliers and senior internal stakeholders while building collaboration within and across organizational boundaries. You will develop key sourcing activities, ensuring service availability to meet business goals while minimizing risk. You will be the trusted advisor in strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives. You will work side-by-side with your stakeholders to deliver the best end customer experience.
You will be responsible for setting and implementing the category strategy, influencing and driving change across many key stakeholders, improving processes to scale with high business growth and managing vendor and stakeholder relationships, will be a collaborative team player. He/She will be a high-energy, self-starter, with strong business acumen, acute analytical skills, and the demonstrated ability to use creative thinking and innovation to solve complex problems. This individual will thrive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
Key job responsibilities
• Establish category sourcing strategies, lead cross-functional strategic sourcing teams, negotiate with suppliers and execute contracts to optimize Amazon’s competitive position
• Oversee and facilitate the development of solar installations for both existing and new facilities within the Amazon Operations network
• Oversee multiple projects in various locations simultaneously
• Provide positive, clear, concise and transparent team communication cross functionally for all aspects of solar project development
• Enforce contracts and uphold design standards with preferred solar developers and trade contractors
• Drive appropriate relationships with category suppliers, with a principal objective of achieving the optimal solution and cost of ownership that meets the business’ goals supported by a culture of continuous improvement with performance benchmarks in use
• Act as a market intelligence provider regarding solar category; anticipate strategic opportunities and keep key stakeholders informed
• Drive category suppliers in Supplier Relationship Management activities to mitigate risk, improve performance and add value to Amazon
• Identify, achieve and report on savings and value targets for category sourcing activities
• Align with internal customers and understand the business application of the category
• Lead supplier performance management including improving sustainability & social responsibility;

• Define and report on key metrics that measure effectiveness of supply and cost savings
• Champion of standards and process improvements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in program or project management
- Experience in supply chain
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
