Job Description
The role will consist in:
- Developing and executing the organization's legal strategy to support its business objectives.
- Providing strategic legal advice to senior executives.
- Evaluating and mitigating legal risks associated with business activities.
- Identifying emerging legal issues and proposing proactive solutions.
- Supervising and mentoring legal professionals and the external legal advisors.
- Setting clear departmental goals and priorities.
- Managing the legal budget and resource allocation.
- Promoting a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and continuous learning within the legal team.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts, including but not limited to, clients, partners and suppliers’ contracts.
- Ensuring that all contracts are following applicable laws and regulations.
- Developing and maintaining standard contract templates and processes to streamline operations.
- Monitoring changes in laws and regulations relevant to the organization's operations.
- Advising on compliance requirements and implementing necessary policies and procedures.
- Collaborating with regulatory authorities as needed and ensuring timely reporting.
- Managing all litigation matters, including coordination with external legal counsel.
- Evaluating potential risks and benefits of litigation and making recommendations to senior management.
- Exploring alternative dispute resolution methods, when applicable.
- Ensuring compliance with corporate governance requirements.
- Partnering with the board secretary in all relevant corporate governance matters and in maintaining accurate records.
Qualifications
Your experience & skills
- Qualified Lawyer admitted to practice in Spain
- Experience working in Data Protection compliance.
- Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, including services agreements, and supplier and vendor agreements.
- Understanding of SaaS technology and Intellectual Property
- Strong risk management skills.
- You thrive in a fast-paced, change-oriented commercial environment and you understand financial principles and practices in a multi-national corporate context.
- And you probably already have 5-7 years relevant inhouse or international law firm experience
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex situations and develop appropriate strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts concisely, clearly and effectively
- Completely fluent in English (written and spoken); all other languages a real plus
- Integrity and accountability is essential to ensure strict adherence to laws, regulations, and ethical standards
- Prioritization skills for time management and resources
