Job description
KWS Semillas Iberica is on the lookout for a dynamic Country Manager for Spain and Portugal , tasked with spearheading our sales organization across Spain and Portugal . This pivotal role is at the heart of our strategic expansion and ongoing success in the market. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaboratively plan and define sales objectives and action plans with the Sales Team, incorporating analysis of performance, market conditions, financial trends, and customer needs to achieve national goals.
- Oversee the annual sales planning, budget, and forecast in partnership with the Board of Directors of KWS Semillas Ibérica, ensuring all targets are met.
- Lead the cross-functional team of KWS Semillas Ibérica in sales, marketing, and product development, driving synergy and innovation.
- Address customer challenges promptly to enhance partnership, loyalty, and mutual profitability.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies with the Product Development & Marketing teams to meet sales targets and increase brand awareness.
- Foster a sustainable and holistic customer relationship management approach using Salesforce.com together with the Sales and Marketing teams.
- Ensure a robust team structure for ongoing development, collaboration, succession planning, compensation, and disciplinary actions in alignment with HR Business Partner and global policies.
- Adhere to guidelines from KWS Headquarters and local authorities, staying abreast of changes in sales planning and key project risks.
- Fulfill the Managing Director role as the legal representative of the Company and the representative of the shareholders of the companies together with other Managing Directors of KWS Semillas Ibérica.
- Supporting local and global process improvement projects.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or Business Administration (advanced degrees preferred).
- Residency in or willingness to relocate to Valladolid/Zaratan, Spain.
- At least 5 years of management experience in global companies, preferably in the agricultural sector, with a track record of leading diverse teams in matrix organizations.
- Knowledge of sales contracts and contract management principles.
- Strong financial and business acumen, management know-how in hyper-inflation economies.
- In-depth knowledge of the agricultural business, market trends, and the seeds, fertilizers, and crop protection sectors.
- Fluent in Spanish and English language (verbal and written).
- Deep understanding of local culture, laws, and regulations, with exceptional stakeholder management skills in evolving environments.
- Ability to remain focused under pressure.
