What you will be doing
In our Madrid Office, the Policy and Research team is currently looking for a Junior Consultant to join us to work on regional development and social policy research projects. This role involves the development of research methods, the design of projects, as well as work on proposals and report writing.
As a Junior Consultant, your role will include but is not limited to:
Contribute to the preparation of tenders and research proposals, including elaboration of research methods and support with administrative documents.
Support the design and the implementation of data collection (e.g. literature review, stakeholders mapping, interviews, survey, workshops, focus groups);
Deliver qualitative and quantitative analysis, contribute to the preparation of reports (analysis and policy evaluation implemented for the European Commission and other public institutions);
Contribute to Ecorys’ communication and outreach activities, collaborating with other teams, experts, organisations and external stakeholders (attend conferences and workshops, deliver presentations).
Manage and deliver part of projects and/or specific tasks to support public institutions in the implementation of regional development programmes.
What we will need from you
Essential
University degree in Law, Economics, Public Policy, Social science/research.
Track record of 1-3 years of work experience in the fields of EU research and innovation, regional development and/or social policy; preferably with European institutions, EU clients, partners and organisations.
Fluency in Spanish and English (spoken & written) is essential; including the ability to work professionally in these two languages.
Experience in policy analysis and evaluation skills, especially linked to regional development, research and innovation and social policy themes.
Experience in qualitative and quantitative research including designing, analysing and writing up findings from desk research, interviews, focus groups, surveys, and other data sets.
Ability to work on your own initiative, to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Desirable
Experience in supporting business development activities, writing successful bids, reports and concept notes.
Experience in delivering presentations and client outreach.
