Job Purpose
The Manager of Network Strategy and Alliances in Vueling plays a critical role in shaping Vueling's network to optimize profitability whilst protecting and building our long-term strategic positions. This role influences the longest-term (5-10 years) planning exercise working with Corporate Strategy. Specifically, the successful candidate will define and embody the airline network strategy, input the capacity plan for that time horizon, and define how the airline competes at key bases and markets.
Being a Manager of Network Strategy and Alliances in Vueling is working and learning with a top-class team. Vueling was named Best Airline at the prestigious Routes World 2023 due to its efforts and excellent work in this area.
Main Accountabilities
A key part of the job is to lead the annual size & shape cycle, which defines the base portfolio and aircraft allocation by the base as a key starting point for the seasonal planning exercise. As part of this, your recommendations will drive the resource planning across the company to deliver the annual plan, and you will be responsible for tracking alignment with these plans.
If you're the selected candidate, you will identify and negotiate partnerships with other airlines or alliance members to expand route offerings and enhance connectivity. This role will also hold relationships with existing airline partners and nurture new ones.Main Responsibilities - Tasks
