GTB Sustainability Senior Associate

Country: Spain

As a GTB Sustainability Senior Associate you will work to drive the origination of sustainability-related products and activities of our Global Transaction Banking business. This role is both Origination and Product Management, as you will be responsible for increasing revenues on this type of business but also managing the existing stock of products and deals and be accountable for proper governance of these. The scope of the topics you will cover will be enriched by the fact that Global Transaction Banking business has a variety of businesses including; financing supported by Export Credit Agencies or Multilateral Development Banks (Export Agency Finance); the financing, guarantee and intermediation of international trade flows (Trade and Working Capital; liquidity management; large-scale transactional payments, collections and ledgers embedded with encrypted state of the art technology, and bilateral financing. Our global scope will also provide you with exposure to clients and sectors as they cope with global trends such as onshoring, minimizing risk on transition metal availability, and investment in nascent technologies related to decarbonization. This is an opportunity for you to work towards creating value-added financial services to Companies as they address these key challenges, and pioneering new products based on your understanding of upcoming trends in sustainability.

We need someone like you to help us in different fronts:

• Lead commercial initiatives with local or product teams to develop new commercial rationale on how GTB products can support a company´s sustainability strategy. Experience of GTB products here is key.
• Liaise with our local teams to drive origination and help them to identify sustainability angles on existing opportunities or create new leads.
• Lead presentations to clients or other internal stakeholders to explain best practice and developments on regulation, technology or product capabilities.
• Define project plans execute and effectively communicate updates and progress to internal and external stakeholders.
• Create content for origination including research and presentations with analysis on levers that support a sector or client solve for a sustainability challenge they are facing
• Participate in industry and internal work groups related to sustainability issues.
• Conduct analysis on sustainability challenges and opportunities for specific subsets: sectors, regions, company type, asset owners, etc.
• Develop a deep understanding of the emerging regulatory and disclosure context to advise client´s on trends and the tools that can help to support them with these.
• Examine and research the value chain of emerging Clean Tech sectors to determine the dynamics, competitive landscape and potential opportunities to explore with the Commercial and Product Teams.
• Support geographies in research for internal sustainability due diligence and governance process.
• Lead the launch of new sustainability value-propositions.
