We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist to join our dynamic ESG team. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for extracting valuable insights from complex data sets and providing actionable recommendations to drive data-informed decision-making. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business challenges, design analytical models, and develop innovative solutions to enhance our products and services. Responsibilities
- Analyse large, structured, and unstructured datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that drive business strategies and optimizations.
- Develop and implement statistical models, algorithms, and machine learning techniques to address business objectives and solve complex problems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and frame business problems and translate them into data-driven solutions.
- Build predictive models and develop algorithms to optimi s e processes, increase efficiency, and improve customer experience.
- Design and conduct experiments to test hypotheses, evaluate models, and validate assumptions.
- Present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, effectively communicating complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to identify new opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data science solutions into existing systems and processes.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior data scientists and analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Must-Have Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and machine learning.
- In-depth knowledge of statistical analysis, experimental design, and hypothesis testing.
- Expertise in machine learning techniques, such as supervised and unsupervised learning, regression, classification, clustering, and recommendation systems.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to effectively communicate insights and present complex data in a visually compelling manner.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases and big data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) for data extraction and manipulation.
- Solid understanding of data pre-processing techniques, feature engineering, and dimensionality reduction.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically, analyse complex data, and propose innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, specifically AWS and Azure, and their data services.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and text mining techniques.
- Knowledge of deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch ) and neural network architectures.
- Proficiency in distributed computing and parallel processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark).
- Experience with data streaming platforms (e.g., Apache Kafka) and real-time analytics.
- Understanding of advanced optimization techniques and operations research.
- Knowledge of causal inference methods and experimental design.
- Experience with data governance, data privacy, and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Familiarity with AWS services such as Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Athena, and Amazon EMR for data storage, data integration, data warehousing, and big data processing.
- Experience with Azure services such as Azure Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and Azure Machine Learning for data storage, data integration, data warehousing, and machine learning.
- Knowledge of cloud-based data processing, data lakes, and serverless architectures.
- Understanding of cloud security and data protection best practices
