Job description
Based in one of the most exclusive beach resort destinations in Ibiza, the Concept Store Manager is responsible for the day-to-day running and seasonal trading of two stores supported by an Assistant Store Manager leading a small part-time retail team of five to six.
The objective is to optimise retail opportunities and to set and deliver against key performance indicators to achieve sales targets, (store and staff), through the delivery of an engaging first-class customer experience, expert product knowledge and expertise in clienteling.
The successful individual must be living in Europe, be fluent in English and have at least 2 years of experience as a Floor Manager, Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager in luxury retail. Other essentials include; the delivery of an exceptional customer experience, skilled execution of budgets, targets and objectives, leading by example effectively developing and motivating the team with a proven track record in achieving and exceeding targets.
Adaptable and flexible you must have the ability to select the key elements of corporate luxury retail and blend them into the world of luxury beach hospitality with client experience and relationship building at its heart.
This incredible destination is frequented by a discerning global clientele including celebrities and VIP's with an eye for unique and rare objects and vintage and luxury fashion.
As a permanent resort-based role in Ibiza running from February until November, (the stores open in April and close in October), it will suit an experienced luxury retail professional inspired by a change of pace and lifestyle who is hands-on and adaptable to a start-up environment, happy to help implement structure, processes and systems.
Main Responsibilities
Business/Commercial Awareness
- Management of figures including budget, targets and store objectives.
- Set and deliver key performance indicators against store and staff sales targets.
- Manage KPI’s, stock and sales reports and review bestsellers to influence VM and incentives.
- Manage the staff rota in line with the store budget and trading times.
- Establish and maintain an effective clienteling strategy.
- Build the client database and collaborate with the Project Manager to establish a product communication strategy and maintain client engagement and loyalty.
- Manage all store expenditures in line with the P&L report.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager on store events, collaborations and press.
- Establish policies, procedures and store guidelines in collaboration with the Project Manager and Retail Operations Coordinator.
VM, Stock Management & Storage
- Contribute to the building of VM guidelines.
- Ensure that merchandise displayed outside is shaded from the sun.
- Ensure delicate or fragile items are suitably displayed.
- Maintain the highest standards of organisation and storage for stock at all times.
- Conduct monthly stock checks.
Recruitment/Training & Development
- Alongside the sales team deliver a first-class customer experience building relationships, understanding preferences and sharing information with the buyer to influence assortment and replenishment.
- Ensure all employees are inducted into the company.
- Implement weekly training sessions to continually develop the team focusing on product knowledge, exceptional customer service and clienteling best practices.
- Facilitate monthly team reviews to deepen product knowledge, VM and clienteling practices.
Team Management
- Demonstrate exceptional organisation skills and commitment to effectively running the stores and managing a team of five to six part-time sales associates and an Assistant Store Manager.
- Effective coaching and leadership with timely and ongoing training.
- Write and conduct performance reviews.
Customer Experience
- Ensure the client experience is a transformational one from start to finish.
- Introduce VIP clients to key members of the team behind the concept stores.
- Maintain a high standard of visual presentation.
- Utilise visual merchandising to react to best sellers and encourage sales tactically and strategically.
- Participate in the organisation and curation of store events.
Health & Safety
- Include health & safety training in all staff inductions.
- Carry out regular risk assessments.
- Ensure there is a qualified first aider.
Administration
- Help set and establish all policies and procedures regarding back office, POS system and banking and a company Procedure Manual, training team members accordingly.
- Maintain accurate employee files.
- Provide all relevant documentation to payroll.
Essential Skills
- Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager or Floor Manager with at least 1-2 years of store management experience.
- Luxury goods or luxury fashion experience is essential.
- Clienteling expertise is essential.
- Target and results-driven.
- Thorough understanding and management of store budgets.
- Experience setting and implementing store and individual KPI's.
- Track record in curating and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- Ability to nurture, inspire and lead through the team.
- Effective and proactive communication at all levels.
- Numerate and proficient in MS Office including Excel.
- Full driving license and a car to commute to work.
Remuneration & Benefits
- Salary: € in line with experience + performance-related bonus
- 31 days annual leave pro-rata in line with start date including public holidays.
