What to expect:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at Bertrandt for an exciting project extension. This project focuses on enhancing the capabilities and functionalities of a Generic Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Simulator, specifically tailored for training UAS Flight Operators. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing new features that include handover functionalities between consoles and applications for displaying the visual system on simulators.

Responsibilities :

- Independent UAV and GCS Control: Develop functionalities to enable independent control of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Ground Control Stations.

- Video Streaming Application: Design and implement software applications for streaming video with low latency, including the ability to switch video sources dynamically.

- Handover Control: Implement handover capabilities, allowing the seamless transfer of UAV control between different Ground Control Stations.

- Payload Control Monitor System (PCMS): Develop a new PCMS application to facilitate the switching of video sources from various Image Generator (IG) computers during handovers.

- Enhanced UAV Systems: Improve UAV systems by incorporating more failures, controls, and functionalities.

- System Architecture: Contribute to the design and development of the overall GCS architecture to accommodate the new functionalities.

- Testing and Validation: Conduct engineering building, internal validation tests, Customer Confidence Tests (CCT), and On-Site Acceptance Tests (OSAT).

- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of all developed applications, processes, and systems.

What you bring along:

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
P- roven experience in software development using Qt and C++.
- Familiarity with Docker for application deployment.
- Experience with Ansible for version management and deployment will be valued.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Previous experience in simulation environments or aerospace projects is a plus!

This project is exclusively developed on-site at the client's office, ensuring close collaboration and seamless integration with their operational environment.
