ABLE Human Motion is a medical device start-up that has created the world’s most lightweight and affordable robotic exoskeleton to help people with disabilities walk again. The company is recognized as Best European Robotics Startup and Innovators Under 35 by MIT. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to help design** a new generation of exoskeletons for home use**. **Tasks. **- **Design exoskeleton parts **with challenging weight, strength, usability and cost constraints. - **Perform engineering calculations** or simulations to ensure the design meets the required solicitations. - Create and review **technical drawings**, plans, and specifications. - **Prototype and assemble** complex electromechanical systems (mechanical and electronic parts of exoskeletons). - Develop **manufacturing and assembling processes**. **Required Qualifications. **- **Experience in Mechanical Design using SolidWorks** or similar CAD software. - Experience **designing parts for manufacturing** with the following methods and materials: CNC machining with metal, lamination with carbon fiber, MJF 3D printing with plastic. - **Experience using Finite Element Analysis (FEA)** as part of the design process. - **Motivated and proactive** with the ability to work independently. - **High-performer**, being able to get things done in a fast-paced atmosphere. - Proficiency in written and oral English. **Preferred Qualifications. **- PhD degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering or related. - Experience designing and assembling complex mechanical systems (including bearings, gears, timing belts, demanding tolerances, moving parts and electronic components like motors, sensors and boards). - Experience with different surface finishing technologies (sandblasting, polished, anodized, painting, laser marking). - Previous experience in the field of Rehabilitation Robotics. - Understanding of biomechanics, human gait and exoskeletons. - Written and oral Spanish, if possible. **What can we offer you? **- Be part of **one of the most promising healthcare companies** in Europe. - Join a **young and passionate team willing to change the world**, where everybody has a voice. - **Flexible working hours**: we work for objectives, balancing work and personal life, with the option of doing telework. - **Full-time indefinite contract of employment**. - **Competitive compensation** according to your experience. **Other information. **- **Office work in Barcelona**, Spain. - Expected incorporation in **January 2023**. **Prestaciones para los empleados**:**Salario competitivo**:**Horario flexible**:**Confianza y voz**:**Retos profesionales**:**Eventos sociales**:**Oportunidad de crecimiento**:**Stock-options**:**Café y fruta =)**:**Valores**:**Curiosos**:Habilidad de resolver problemas complejos con soluciones creativas. **Valientes**:Las cosas son posibles hasta que se pruebe lo contrario. **Humildes**:Siempre dispuestos a aprender el uno del otro. **Ágiles**:Espíritu emprendedor impulsado por metodología lean. **Diversión**:La diversión forma parte de todo lo que hacemos.
